  1. JV 33 printhead began printing wrong color

It turns out the head was shot. Using a syringe a purged cleaning solution through the yellow damper and into the head - being careful not to apply to much pressure. The fluid never cleared up it just kept leaking cyan. The baffle, or gasket between the cyan channel and yellow channel in the...
  2. JV 33 printhead began printing wrong color

Thanks for the tips - of course it happened at the worst time possible. I'll keep trying!
  3. JV 33 printhead began printing wrong color

I let ran a nozzle soak for 4 hours - still no yellow. I replaced the capping station a couple of months ago so it's pretty new, and I just replaced the yellow damper last night to see if that took care of the problem. Before I pulle the old damper I could see the tiniest bit of green inside the...
  4. JV 33 printhead began printing wrong color

I'm searching throught the past forums for answers but wanted to see if anyone has suggestions in the meantime. MYJV 33 printhead began printing the wrong color on one channel. In the middle of printing - it looked liek yellow had dropped out. I stopped the pring and did a test draw - all...
  5. Looking for a heat transfer press or heat setter

One that can handle 100" media - we're not set on a brand yet. We've looked at a couple of Italian made heat presses but wanted to see what else we might find before we buy new.
  6. URGENT: Mimaki + Rasterlink Profiles

We use the Brightline vinyl with our Mimaki. Included with our Rasterlink III were 3 or 4 color profiles - one of which is for 3Mij160 which will give pretty good results. It's not the one we use daily but off the top of my head I know it works.
  7. Looking for a heat transfer press or heat setter

Does anyone know of or have a used heat transfer press or a heat setter for sale? I am looking for something to compliment our 102" Mutoh dye sub printer. I have been watching a few sites such as Global Garage and I have not seen anything I'd like to buy yet. Any thoughts?

  10. Rastek H650

We chose the H650 simply because we got a good deal on a demo that was practically new. I will be printing on it tomorrow and the rest of this week so I will have a much better feel for it in a few days but so far I am happy with it's ease of use - and the rip software is great.
  11. Rastek H650

Just started the install! The Grimco rep arrived today to begin the setup. I'll post some pics of samples and give some feedback on the printer once we are up and running.
  12. Hello All! 1st Week w/Mimaki JF1631

What purpose does the washing liquid serve in the eighth head? We've had ours since September and have not had the best experience so far.
  13. ISA Las Vegas, Who is going?

I'll be there! I'm not sure where we are staying yet but it will be a busy couple of weeks for me - I'll probably be in Vegas for about 10 days supervising set ups and tear downs for the show.

  15. Rastek H700 flatbed? good/not good?

JS - thanks - I'll let you know how it goes. I'm not sure if the tech will be from Rastek or from Grimco (which is who we bought the machine from).
  16. Rastek H700 flatbed? good/not good?

We have the Rastek H650. It's still in the crate right now but we will be installing it in the next two weeks depending on the service tech's schedule. We already have a Mimaki JF-1631 Flatbed and we purchased the Rastek to add to our capabilitities since we print a ton of PVC panels. No...
  17. Substrate on a Mimaki JF 1631 Flatbed?

We have not had any real issues with adhesion. If you are cutting your substrate on a flectcher cutter or tablesaw/panelsaw, you have to cut the piece to size before you print on it. If you trim it afterwards, the ink tends to chip. However, we do cut the printed piece on our CNC and it does not...
  18. cutting sandblast material

I like Anchor the best but the hartco 425 series works well on cedar. It's thinner than the anchor and costs less but it can release or burn up during the blasting process. The Anchor is superior but just be careful when removing the mask as the Anchor 117 adheres so well it can pull up the...

  20. Laminator Help

The hardest part (though its not really that hard) at first is keeping your material from wrinkling. If the roll of vinyl is not tight on the core or if it is not loaded in the laminator correctly you can have problems. Loading a new roll of laminate can be tricky as well the first few times.
