  1. Constant "Substrate Jams" on L260

Take up reel just a thought, but the only time I had a jam on ours is when I manually tightened up the take up reel too much...it gave me the same error as you are getting. I have never had a "mid-print" jam other then this, not sure why the take up reel would pull so hard that it would make...
  2. HP L260 RIP Choice

Using Onyx 11 for both our GS6000 and our 26500, it works very well for us. It does take some time up front to get all of the "little settings" just the way you want them for each media but once that's done, it's a breeze. Haven't hit any bugs yet and really don't expect to now.
  3. mactac bubble free frosted

I have used the clear B-free product and for some light applications on glass(not acrylic) where you can get away with using a very soft squeegee it it works fine. When we first discovered this stuff we were excited for a dry application and used it on a 200lb acrylic sign, 2nd surface. It was...

Gino, I used to see that AIM truck all the time in the business park where our shop is....it always got a lot of double-takes!

  8. Looking for Chrome vinyl

no problem...one other word of caution, it ain't cheap! I paid $107/yd for 48" this eliminated some heavy duty polishing that still wouldn't have looked as good. OUr Avery rep said a gold version is on its way soon
  9. Looking for Chrome vinyl

I have some of the Avery Chrome here for a project (to be applied to a metal sculpture) I just tried a bit on some sintra it seems to stick very well. the only thing is that you can see every pieces of texture in the finish and any knicks or divots would stand out like a sore thumb. very nice...
  10. For GEEKS only!

That is amazing....I can see a lot of home and business applications for this type of thing. We have some signage in the field now where an Android tablet controls 4 different storefronts using RGB strip lighting, controllers and wifi. but this is very cool.
  11. 3M Material (Need advice/Alternative)

It is probably IJ180C, the precursor to V3. The V3 has very small cross-hatching(air egress) but they're both 2 mil cast vinyl. Throw on some 2-mil lam and it should be a bit easier to handle. We like the 3M 8518 for a nice glass finish, it's also a 2 mil so makes for a thin combination and...

Hello from Halifax, what part of the region are you from? Locally we have ND Graphics and Proveer that keep alot of product on hand but we also deal with suppliers from all over the country to get what we want at a decent price. Be happy to expand if you want to message me. -Troy
  14. Got Caught..................

That's great service even though who is at fault is questionable. I've always felt that unless it is the overwhelming fault of the client, I fix the problem now on my dime and figure out why the issue happened in the first place. If you're client is happy and keeps coming back you can make...
  15. Banner material and EPSON GS6000 help

Hi, the only trouble I have ever had when printing banners or awning material on the GS6000 is when the media is rolled the wrong way so that the feed edge is coming from below the input area. I just use our laminator and re-roll the media on another tube so that the feed is coming "over" the...
  16. Major Failure of IJ 35-20

ij180c is the only thing we use in airports for large wall coverings. We also send spec sheets to our client, the GC's and our installers on what finish we need the walls to be otherwise we can't be held financially responsible for a failure. Only ever had one failure in 100's of applications...
  17. New job includes canopy.. yikes!

We've had good luck printing on 3M Panagrpahics III awning material, colour pops! We don't tackle the installation of the material to the frame though, we teamed up up with a textile company that can handle that part of the job. No need to sub out the printing in my view, the only restriction...

  20. cdr->eps

link sorry, I'm not paying attention to my links. Try This BlueFish, you can export as an EPS but it doesn't always make them perfect, I ended cutting from CD and pasting into AI, worked much neater. Troy
