  1. JV3 160sp black dropping out after 3-6 passes

Any luck? It's safe to swap the dampers as part of troubleshooting. The amount of ink within a print head is very minimal and swapping dampers should not have an adverse effect as far as the ink is concerned. Also, take care not to drip ink on the print head boards.
  2. JV3 160sp black dropping out after 3-6 passes

What does the nozzle test print look like? Replacing the damper was a good start. Typically, the damper is a likely culprit. Replacing the captop is also a good suggestion since it will only do a cleaning properly if there is a good seal on the captop. Remember, caps and dampers are...
  3. Seiko ink in hp8000

The Seiko and HP printers are different in terms of ink cartridges. The cartridges themselves are different, with different notches for inserting into the machine. They also have different chips on the cartridges because the firmware is different in each of these printers. Nazdar does offer an...
  4. Caldera 9 Rip - Grand Format

I just had some Caldera training in March with one of their experts. Caldera V9 includes the PDf workflow APPE, which was a $$$ option in V8. As stated above, it does use the i1prism profiling technology. Keep in mind that scanners are no longer supported after V8. With V9 you can now reopen...
  5. Light banding on JV3

SameDay Signs - Depending on your location and where you purchased your inks, your distributor may be able to offer support. Banding can come from a whole number of problems. Posting a photo (like suggested above) is the best way to diagnose these issues. Also, please do not forget that Nazdar...
  6. Solaris Inks Blown Head, Roland ECO SOL max

Typical lifespan of an Epson DX4 print head (which is in your Roland SC) is 4-6 billion shots. I've seen some die with more and less shots. It depends on how hard you run your printer and routine maintenance.
  7. How badly am I screwed?

The Mimaki JV3 doesn't have fuses like a Roland printer. If something blows, it's gonna take the whole board. The slider board is a good call. It's the cheapest board to start replacing and most likely caught the electricity before it went to the main board. New print head cables are a must for...
  8. Not accepting ink cartridges after 30 days shutdown.

Seiko Color Painters will read "Check XX Ink" when it reads an incorrect chip. In other words, this is a chip error. Try yourself another cartridge.
  9. Confused About Color Management

All this talk about SWOP... Anyone out there using GRACol Standards?
  10. Poll - JV33 owners...what ink set do you use?

Bloobird0 - For the best performance, we recommend that you convert over to any of our digital inks all at once. This involves installing a complete set of ink cartridges and performing ink fills. If you have any other questions, just ask! Danielle Coakley Ink Jet Technician Nazdar
  11. mimaki JV3 SP2

Brushmarks - Using a syringe is a great way to troubleshoot the ink train for air leaks. If you aren't getting good suction from underneath the captops, chances are good that an air leak exists somewhere in the ink train. You can also try syringe pulling from the damper. If you see bubbles, this...
  12. Help please...!

Color management is a combination of the following: Individual Ink Limits/Densities Linearization Total Ink Limits ICC Profile Without color management applied, you are running "wide open" with your CMYK. So technically, you're laying down 400% Total Ink Limits (100% of each CMYK)...
  13. Head mis-registration ("3D-like" glow)

I can't imagine this being anything other than a print head alignment issue. Aligning a print head on a JV3 is a combination of manual and electronic adjustments done in a particular sequence. I wouldn't recommend doing this unless you are experienced and have a great set of instructions. Even...
  14. Is anyone out there using G7 specifications?

Check out this article "The Power of Neutral Gray" on NazdarConsulting.com. It's great at explaining the values needed to achieve Neutral Gray. Good Luck!
  15. Is anyone out there using G7 specifications?

I can't see a reason to use unmanaged/other workflows once you've implemented G7. Use GRACol to achieve the rich densities required for digital printing. SWOP values will cause your prints to look washed out.
  16. Is anyone out there using G7 specifications?

Jesse - You'll find some customer testimonials on the Nazdar Consulting Website! SGIA partnered with Nazdar to provide print shops with G7 training. Hope this helps!
