+1 I hate the cyan overspray. Fixed by lowering the head a 1/2 turn. And wiping off all the heads. I treat my print heads like a red headed step child. I wipe on them pretty hard and it works excellent. Eventhough they tell you not to. I print LOTS on my colorspan.

you should still try to print a spot color mapped swatch of each color that will 100% isolate the rip from the printer. I think its wrong settings in your rip if your nozzle check is good.
sounds like cross contamination at the capping station. check for swollen foam that is raising up past the outer rubber seal. if thats happening you need a new one
1604 is a great machine... the print head difference is no big deal. Other than its cheaper to replace 1 of the heads in the roland than the one BIG head in the 1604. I have the larger 2606 which uses 6 heads... I have 2 bad head right now that are $1000 each to replace. I wish I was just...
i'm going to guess that output profile is wrong... that doesn't look like a color profile for your media
... get a color meter and make your own profile. its very easy in flexi and it takes about 1 hour to do... all prints will be perfect from then on
