  1. T-Shirt - Heat Press - Which one should I get?

It's easy to say buy a more expensive press. All of the presses above a great, but that comes at a cost. I think it depends on what type of shirt printing you plan to do. For years I have done Heat transfer vinyl, printed vinyl from my roland versacamm, plastisol transfers and digital...
  2. Help w/ Left Pinch Roller Position

I've had the message before, but now it won't go away. It only happens at one of the grit roller positions. That's why I was wondering what the carriage senses on the pich roller to try and troubleshoot the problem. Thx for the link to the cable.
  3. Help w/ Left Pinch Roller Position

How do the outside pinch rollers work? I keep getting a left pinch roller error, but only when it's at a certain spot on the printer. If I move it to one of the other positions it is fine. This is on an SP-540v Thx
  4. Need Help Roland SP540v

I never knew there was an "Auto". Try print cut adj. first. You print it then it makes the cuts then you adjust the scan & feed based on what you see.
  5. Need Help Finding cap tops and dampers for a Roland SP-300V

  6. Question Business Cards

Maybe you could go to a small local print and have them done, even if it cost a few more dollars.
  7. Need Help 4 Part Valet Parking Ticket- Need Vendor

This is not a "4 part" job. 4 part refers to carbonless paper. This just a long card w/ a few perfs. Almost any printer could do it. Maybe not 4over. Thumbs up to DFS.
  8. Illustrator CC Question

One thing to look at is the "Workspace". At the top right of the screen is a pull down with different choices based on the type of work you do(Typography, layout, web, etc...). I use "Printing & Proofing", when in that workspace if you select an object the align tools show up in the menu bar...
  9. Used VS-540i vs. TrueVis SG-540

Thanks for all that info, very helpful. But, I was asking about the difference between the heads on the VG & SG models are they not the same heads?
  10. Used VS-540i vs. TrueVis SG-540

Aren't they they the same machines except w/ 2x the heads? I thought the issues were w/ the ink & heads.
  11. Changing Versacamm from White ink to all color

Those are all good points, hadn't thought about it that way.
  12. Used VS-540i vs. TrueVis SG-540

Thanks for the input, I have been having some issues w/ my SP that they have not been able to resolve. Also, I rely on the print & cut feature daily.
  13. Used VS-540i vs. TrueVis SG-540

Looking to replace my Sp-540v w/ ether a used VS-540i or a new TrueVis SG-540. The VS will come from an authorized Roland dealer 4 yeas old, $10K, 90 day warranty, CMYKcmk ink configuration. SG is $13,995 w/ 3 year warranty. Any opinions? Also, does CMYKcmk produce better quality than CMYK...
  14. Changing Versacamm from White ink to all color

I'm currently looking at a used machine w/ the same setup from my local Roland dealer. It's set up as cmykLcLmLkW. They offered to just put a cleaning cartridge in the white. They said if I wanted to change to cmyk cmyk, they would have to put cleaning cartridges in the four channels to flush...
  15. Need Help Versaworks “not connected” mid print

I have an SP-540v and used to get this all the time. In my case it turned out that one of the circuit boards was overheating . Usually if the ambient temp. in the shop got over 73+ degrees it would happen. In the end I removed the cover from the back exposing the circuit boards and but a...
  16. Rant Roland SG-540

What exactly is happening? I've had an Sp-540v for many years that I bought used from a dealer. I was thinking about getting a SG-540.
  17. Need Help Roland SP-300i cyan not printing

It sounds like the cyan siphoned up some of the black ink. this happens to me on my 540 w/ the Yellow. Try doing several clean cycles followed by a test print after each so you can see if there is any improvement. Once I get some cyan showing I'll print a solid block (full width) of cyan...
  18. Need Help Anagraph ae-75e

I am surprised that inkscape would support a plotter. As far as cut studio goes, is there some sort of plotter setup or install? Usually you have to choose the type of connection or port type (USB, Parallel, Comm port) a lot of these are old ports that aren't found on modern computers. I...
  19. What kind of PC do you get for large format files .tiffs and such

I think it depends on the type of work and production volume you are doing as well as your budget. I Built a new PC(First Time) w/ an AMD Ryzen 1600 CPU, 8 GB Ram, SSD & Standard Hard drive and a video card I got on craigslist. Whole PC w/ case & power supply was only $500. I never have any...
  20. Need Help Anagraph ae-75e

You will need some sort of sign cut software that can recognize the plotter. I have an old AE-60e, w/ a "serial" port connection. I have to use a a USB adapter that I got about 10+ years ago. A quick look at some of the "bargain" sign cut programs show that they support that model.
