Roll off some slack at the back of the machine, its happening cos the machine is pulling it through off a tight roll, it causes the roll to become wavy at the edges and then head makes contact. :smile:

Hi All, I have a Roland VP 540. It has suddenly come up with an error. The display tells me "Service Call 0140". It was busy cutting a job and stopped suddenly. Does anyone know what this could be??? Your help would be really appreciated. Thanks

So are you saying that when you remove the rollers it goes?? Maybe its the material itself

What Problems

I have noticed on a couple of threads how some give the above advice. I don't understand why you guys suggest this. Let me explain: I work from corel, I have a vp 540 using VW. When I am printing any black type or a barcode on a label, when I send the black artwork made up of all values...

This could be the banner material, is there not another type you can do a test on. I know you have mentioned that you have done plenty before, however, the surface can be irregular within the roll. Sometimes I have had what looks to be "dented lines" and that produces different shades.

Thanks, man thats impressive. You know your stuff. So... A quick substitute, that will do the same job, that you can buy from a local store.....is??? If not then I take it that we all soldier on using these little bottles of butyl cellosolve, butyl carbitol, and acetone combined. :thumb:

I am using Eco Sol Max on a VP540. I use this stuff and get it easily from the local Roland agent, but I was just wondering what it actually is? Acetone maybe? You see its seriously costly and I maintain the machine once a week.

Hi All, What is this cleaning solution we use to clean our machines manually? I get the original "Roland" small bottle with nothing but Japanese type on it, is there something else that can be used? :wink:

I work from corel - not everyones choice, however if I select cutcontour as the outline for cutting it doesnt pick up in VW. I learnt quickly that I have to select a swatch 100% cutcontour and then its good to go.

Strange only on the banner, you have me rattled with thought???

Thats looks clogged up, or I hope you didn't have a head strike, cos that means a new head is needed. Good Luck

I have been running my VP540 for 3 years now and I have only stuck with the original Eco Sol Inks. I am way too nervous to try after market inks, I hear too many conflicting stories about how they can mess up your heads etc... etc... I am keen to hear what others use?

Do manual clean...then, Select head in up position and use long smoothers to hold down fiber ends of banner material. I had this and since doing the above Ive had no issues. But... Please remember to take smoothers out before doing the sheet cut....please
