Yes, summa is a Thermal Printer. Not sure how the heads would get scratched though, but it definitely looks like 2 areas of the head are no longer functioning.
I have been squeeking by suggesting mostly white background stickers, and if they want full color prints, I have been selling them at a discounted rate.
Attached is a picture of 2 density tests that I ran, one in Cyan and one in black.
I have been trying to troubleshoot a print defect issue with my Summa for about 4 months and nothing seems to be working. A hairline streak from left to right will not print at both the top and now the bottom of each pass. This renders my prints unsellable. Summa Tech suggested rotating print...
I am using a Graphtec FC5100-75 and a 60* blade. But I cannot get my calibration right. Anyone know the cutter guidelines for this stuff on a Graphtec? Supplier can only give me Roland and Ioline specs, which are not working.
Thanks!
I have had problems in the past with the durability of heat welded banners. For some reason, then tend to gt brittle right at the hem when they are heat welded and rip right at that line. Just a heads up...
I had this problem yesterday, expect I didn't catch it in time and it cause the sponge to swell and siphon ink out into the waste tank and then overflow onto the floor. I found it inside the printer on the base but the guys at SolventInkjet told me they fuse to the print heads sometimes. Either...
I had a sales rep tell me that he would comp me free shipping on an order because their driver forgot to deliver it, then when I placed the order again he refused to do comp the $6 shipping charge. After explaing that I shouldn't have to pay for it since it's now a day late and I don't even...
Papyrus and Bleeding Cowboy both make me want to punch kittens. BUT... it's a great way to peg your clients taste within 5 seconds of discussing design with them!
I normally use cutting master from Illustrator but that computer DIED this morning so I am scrambling to try to send a job from another computer that has to get done today.
I have the art in Flexi...
Then send it to cut...
Then it opens in Production Manager...
Then it sends to my Graphtec...
My Mutoh Falcon Outdoor is printing regularly but all of the sudden now the printer is laying down what looks like way too much ink and causing it to puddle and not dry. It then begins to streak because of all of the extra ink. Any ideas?
Great thanks. Just got off the phone with Mutoh. They are standing firm that this is a consumables issue not a defective sponge problem, even though they now make the sponges metal mesh so resolve this issue. Hmmm...
Also, it looks like the ink overflow shorted out my Ink Waste Bottle...
I installed a new magenta cartridge on Friday of last week. The nozzle checks seemed brownish in color so I ran an thorough cleaning cycle on it and printed a banner yesterday. Colors were still a little off so I ran another cleaning cycle and nozzle check. I came in this morning and there...
I am trying to send a job to the Graphtec from Illustrator that I printed on my Mutoh. I need to cut the print into rolls of circles but when I send a job to Cutting Master it tells me that the current setup does not support registration marks.
Any suggestions?
