  1. Jeti 1224 re installaton

If the heads were flushed properly by someone who knows what they're doing (and it sounds like it), you have a 95%+ chance that the heads are okay. Don't know if that helps you, but I have seen Techs flush heads, park machines for months on end, and gotten the machine back up and running fairly...
  2. Anapurna MW

Hey Dunners. I sold Agfa Anapurna for years. The Anapurna line are GREAT printers, but parts pricing is quite high, yes. I know many customers that have sourced parts, including UV lamps, from other suppliers and done just fine. CureUV.com is a good place to start.... FYI, a shop I am...
  3. Cut Lettering On Box Truck

Good for you. You just know that when a customer comes back to you and says you're $100 too high, that he will also be the type of customer to complain about longevity down the road, and will have long forgotten about that $100 he saved when he bought the job..... FYI, I always put "Quoted...
  4. HP Latex vs JV33??

I don't sell HP, but I do sell Epson, Mutoh, and Mimaki..... From a familiarity standpoint, the JV33 will be a walk in the park for you. Operation is very similar to the JV3 you are used to, but with obvious upgrades.... ES3 inks are not odorless, but don't require a massive amount of...
  5. Lenticular printing

First trick is indeed the software. HumanEyes is the most popular right now it seems, but there are other options. As for ink technologies, the reason it's being done UV is for alignment to the lens. Lenticular works by lining the image(s) up to the specific lines in the lens. If alignment...
  6. Applying window perf

More important than wet or dry -----I say dry by the way----- could be 'What's on the glass?'... If the vehicle is factory new, you may have a problem. Also, is the customer a 'Rain-X' user----that stuff will cause no end of headaches when it comes to adhesion.... If the vehicle is brand new...
  7. To rivot or not to rivot....that is the question

Sounds like an older vehicle, but with screw heads, I always did a quick once over before going near the thing with vinyl. Screw heads can have little sharp burrs on them....inspect the screws first, break anything off---you may even need to use a file.... don't take the screws out---go over...
  8. 3D Printer - print a wrench; use the wrench! unbelivable

Yep, very cool.....saw these in action at shows in Europe years ago.....companies such as Sony and Microsoft have them mock up video game controllers on them and such.......
  9. Kongsberg mat for router vacuum table

You should be contact ESKO directly....ZUND, AXYZ and many others also use all the same mat materials....
  10. Huge Sign

What a great opportunity to sell a sign system.....a permanently mounted frame that can take a banner or banner mesh on a changeover basis..... http://www.shomi.ca/frameless.html It requires a little more upfront selling on your part, but does the customer really want the same old same old up...
  11. Huge Sign

3M makes a vinyl you can apply directly to brick......
  12. How much for that HP L25500 in your sign shop?

Oh yes, many complaints from my customers as to how hot this thing makes the shop.....that, and the running joke that you'd better keep a fire extinguisher beside the machine!.... As for latex being green, it does not have the harsh smell of solvents, but there are still chemicals becoming...
  13. Ugh, which line to follow!!!

I'm all for going with the moulding, or using a level, but; If it's Tony Soprano's and there is going to be some "weight" in or on the back end, it will sag obviously...... I always warned guys with this type of vehicle that if they plan on towing a lot, or do indeed carry a lot of weight in...
  14. 3M Partial Wrap Via Mopar!

I work for a distributor for both 3M and Avery for the past 11+ years.....before that, I did 7+ years production..... Myself, I wouldn't get all twisted about MOPAR selling these kits at dealerships....we deal with many aftermarket automotive companies here, and there are two takes; 1) The guy...
  15. Damn flies!

Come on....everyone knows that people (or flies) coming to sign shops don't actually ready the signs.......why would people keep coming to the front office door when there's a big sign on the front door saying "Pickup and Delivery around back"...
  16. Be kind to this Canadian...

....some of you know me, I'm sure, and I'm not really hiding my identity with my user name....a little background on me; I started in the glorious Sign and Graphics biz back in 1993......small shop, doing lots of vehicle graphics (Gerber EDGE was the thing!), and doing tons of tradeshow pop-up...
  17. Vehicle Wraps

I drive by a shop on the weekends---kind of a customer of ours--- en rt to my summer place up north.......he has a sign out front proclaiming "Vehicle Wraps starting at $995"...... I want to burn that sign every time I see it.....
  18. Custom stripe on camaro

Orange Camaro?----may I suggest MATTE WHITE for the stripes.....kind of a reverse of the classic 69 Indy pace Car, and the 2011 Indy Pace Car..... matte is the newest and hottest thing in vehicle graphics......matte black gets STUPID HOT in the summer----my car was matte black last summer, and...
  19. Vehicle Wraps

Dan is 10,000% correct. I sell equipment and materials, and see many customers buying a printer for the first time thinking they are going to make a mint doing vehicle wraps.... The vinyl companies perpetuate this myth at the Sign Shows by showing wraps live in their booths. From what I see...
