  1. onyx 11

    Rotate the print 180..
  2. Caldera vs. ONYX Thrive 211

Perdonally can't go past Onyx for the L360, all he print modes and ICC profiles sync up nicely and is much easier to use than Caldera. I would take the suggestion and try both, Caldera natively in OSX and Onyx Thrive, postershop, production house etc in Parallels. Choose what you like the best...
  3. Caldera Color Replacement

As per attachment.. make sure you have Vector, images(raster) or Both selected for the colour replacement. Cirecled in red. Apply Rules applies the rules, the little yellow button on the left automatically updates the changes... circled in red. As you can see here I have chosen C0M0Y0K100...
  4. My Latex Colors Look Like $h*t

I haven't had a chance to re profile on the new firmware yet, but I believe that HP still has not given more ink density in 6 and 8 pass since the tech didn't mention this, the firmware is still in beta. Yes we are using CMYK and setting the OP a little higher to 20% from the default 12%...
  5. My Latex Colors Look Like $h*t

We primarily print using 6 pass on the L360 and we can hit a nice red, not as good as solvent but up there with coke red. When using 10pass and 120% ink the reds are brilliant, but to be expected from a 10pass print. The new firmware has significantly improved magenta printhead life but the...
  6. L360 and printing on chrome vinyl...is it possible?

Absolutely possible, with the right colour settings we printed 'Golden tickets' WIlly Wonka style very similar to a gold vinyl with chrome accents.
  7. Windows 10 and RIPs

Anyone using Windows 10 with any RIPs out there? We are currently using ONYX PH 11.1.2 on Windows 7 Pro with some minor problems of RIPQueue crashing etc every now and then and thinking of upgrading to Windows 10 and whether its worthwhile since it's a free upgrade...
  8. HP 360 banding help

This... our supplier also recommended using this beta firmware but we have taken steps to only print in 4 colour anyway. I'm not comfortable being a guinea pig on our production machines. or, I would try turning the OMAS off or on and see if it improves things... I know we have banding and huge...
  9. L360 touch screen problems.

I too find some of the L360s touch screens to be dodgy. Out of the 7 or so machines I've used, 2 seem to have minds of their own when it came to touchscreens. 1 we have here is very consistently bad, always having to go into the substrate menu twice before being able to move or cut the media...
  10. Increase # of Passes

I find the FB700 we have simpler than the latex, even more than the dumbed down L360.. using Onyx. We mainly print using 'Indoor Signage' @600dpi and this gives us a good balance of quality and speed. I'm not sure how many 'passes' this is but it works. You can even override the ripped print...
  11. Extremely slow L360

Definitely not a network problem.. 8pass @ 600dpi runs as it should, no slow downs. I believe it is a drying time issue since it starts printing fine and then will slow down as the print reaches the curing module.
  12. What is your workflow for getting vinyl on take up reel on L360?

Looks like a bit of waste to me, then again, you can never print on the final metre or so of media anyway!
  13. Extremely slow L360

I suspect that could be the case... when printing to the Z6200s on the same server/rip the network utilisation is around 10%... while the latex only uses 1%.. strange... I'll have to look into it.. maybe our gigabit switch is acting up on that port.
  14. What is your workflow for getting vinyl on take up reel on L360?

I do it either of 3 ways. Firstly make sure the take up is disabled on the front panel. enabling it disables the cutter and is a pain in general. 1. Let it get just off the floor and then loop it under the bar and attach to take up... wind it up a little and flick switch. My preferred method...
  15. Extremely slow L360

Printing in 6 pass, normally a 50yard roll takes about 3 hours to print, however lately it's painfully slow... 4+ hours.. the head carriage seems to like to sit on the side of the machine for an amount of time and not cycle back and forth like it did at first. Exactly the same job, rip settings...
  16. For hp latex owners

I have printed over the edge on a L360 and used the ink collector instead of platten. Worked fine, I don';t remember the exact steps as it was a one off I think just tell the RIP the media is wider than it really is.
  17. How to enter lenght for substate latex 310

If it's anything like the L360, you do it when at the loading roll screen when loading a roll. I dont think you can enter a length once loaded.
  18. FB700 - reading a chip

Just run the ink past 0, it has no effect ont he workings of the printer. I check the actual ink left in the bag before replacing a carton and profiler chip.
  19. 330 Take up reel Wrinkles

On the 360 and I guess the 330 also, you have to use the metal takeup, it will automatically wind up or rewind depending on arm position. It's great and works a treat for me with any media form 50-60". Don't have any 2" media to test with but I don't see that being the problem. Wrinkling is...
  20. NEW HP Latex 310/330/360 Printers Firmware

It was fine until I started getting these firmware errors, then it would resume fine 5/10 times then it got worse and worse until one day it wouldn't resume from either network or front panel. A whole bunch of parts were replaced, the HP technician diagnosed it as faulty PSU but it was the last...
