Sometimes it's just the way images and vector artwork are rendered if you have images set to Perceptual and vector set to Colormetric. In tht case I'll cange both to either one or the other and the box goes away.
I've been using flatbeds for close to 9 years and in my experience 80% of the issues are printhead or ink flow/reservoir/floats related. Occasionally a pixel card or some other electronics goes bad just like they do on any PC.
What printer are these printing on? If I'm printing backlit on the HP Latex I use a backlit profile that increases the ink density. Same with my Onset flatbed. On the Vutek flatbed you double strike. If it is going to be viewed not backlit during the day then you do a 4 color layer with a white...
What RIP do you use? I use Caldera and create my cut files at the RIP. You can also still do it in AI as you did previously. I had a QS3200 for 4 years and never had that issue. Replaced that with a GS3250LX about 3 years ago.I don't know what's causing your problem but it's not the Vutek...
Me too. Tech replaced it. Haven't had an issue since but, I don't use that much. It's usually just easier and quicker top print it on my flat bed roll to roll.
I put a brand new one and it would not acknowledge that it was new. It showed about 10% full even though I could feel it was a full cartridge. I've had it happen on the 6100 too. You just have to keep at least 2 sets at all times.
Easymedia is just that, easy. I've profiled all our large format printers with it. I can profile any media in about 20 minutes (including printing all the swatches). I do have a Macbeth densitometer that auto reads in the profiles though.
We've had one for year and haven't had a single problem. It's not as fast as I would like though. I recently printed 16, 53" x 50' tiles on window perf and even at 8 pass (4 pass wouldn't dry) it took about 2 hours per tile. Luckily I can trust it to run unattended so I was able to set up a tile...
Thanks for all the replies. The supply and take up are solid bars with an air bladder inside that inflates to put tension on the cores. I ended up running the job on my HP latex.
We had a Vutek QS3200 for 4 years and replaced it with a GS3250LX last year. In all that time I have not found a way to resolve a media wrinkling issue. No matter what rolled media it is I get a wave on the supply side that gets worse as it prints (see attached photo). Anything over 18' - 20'...
Yep I second this.
O.P. I'm using it as well for my Vutek GS3250LX. Best thing is you can preview the white before you RIP or print. I also use it for a HP 6100, HP 26500 Latex and Inca Onset S40. Onyx seems so 10 years ago to me now.
I guess I'm fortunate in that I'm employed in this economy and won't get layed-off anytime soon but, I was informed of something recently that is going to make my job unbearable. I'm not even sure I could properly describe the situation, but this change is going to happen in the next couple...
