  1. Cyan dropped on VS-640i

The dampers won't fit upside down but can be installed backwards, so yes the direction they face matters. On your photo you can see the position of the diaphragms (larger circles), they need to be staggered so that they are not directly facing each other. If they are facing each other they won't...
  2. RF640A

I'm guessing this is a regional variant of the RF-640? From what I could decipher looking at these two sites: https://www.rolanddg.co.in/products/printers/versaexpress-rf-640a-wide-format-inkjet-printer/specifications...
  3. Question SP300V - Service Mode Test Print - What Does It Mean?

Well I would say it's probably getting close to time for a black head replacement. For the cyan, it almost looks like static in the cyan test print, based on the "wave" effect in your test pattern. Can you make sure that the print head is properly grounded? There should be a little metal piece...
  4. Cyan dropped on VS-640i

One other thing - make sure the o-rings in the damper are in place correctly - it's easy to miss and can cause a world of problems.
  5. Cyan dropped on VS-640i

Oem inks? Is the damper in the correct way? If backwards the diaphragm won't be able to expand properly reducing how much ink is in the damper. I had a customer with the same problem you are having and they put it in the wrong way. You would have mentioned it but please confirm that you don't...
  6. Users with GR-640

Specifically for a GR-640 using a third party rip such as Onyx and Flexi. Can't confirm 100% but I am thinking there is a bug in the firmware - seems that the rotation of the cutter is out 90 degrees. In Onyx I have to turn on the 90 degree option in the cutter itself, and the cutter acts like...
  7. Versaworks "File is corrupted" over and over

Issue has been FIXED. Turns out it was the AVG antivirus software was causing a conflict. Had to actually uninstall the program. Disabling it didn't work. Hope this helps anyone else who may be pulling out their hair!
  8. Versaworks "File is corrupted" over and over

At my wit's end on this one. Hope someone has some insight. I've been through all the threads pertaining to this issue but none of the suggestions seemed to work for us! Computer is running Windows 7 Pro - 64bit. About 70gb free on drive. Versaworks 5.5.1 Printer - XR-640 This started...
  9. XF-640 and GR-640

Hey guys, Got a situation that I'm hoping that someone out here may have some experience with. Printer: XF-640 Cutter: GR-640, replacing old GX-640 Issue is that GR-640 only runs using Versaworks Dual. XF-640 is not supported using Dual. I have two Roland machines that cannot directly...
  10. Banner / poster hanger?

Trying to source this out for a customer. Any idea what they're called or better yet know where they are sold??
  11. RF-640 and GX-640 networking issues

Hey guys, So our shop finally put our old VP-540i print/cut workhorse to pasture and upgraded to a new RF-640 with a separate GX-640 plotter. The way the shop is currently set up is each designer has a separate copy of Versaworks running on their machines to run the printer and plotter over the...
  12. Vinyl decals overlaid on brushed aluminum wrap

Good news, thanks for that! Customer will be happy to hear that.
  13. Vinyl decals overlaid on brushed aluminum wrap

Hey guys, Curious if anyone has had any success with overlaying vinyl graphics overtop of a brushed aluminum wrap? Specifically a customer is looking to have 3m IJ680 printed reflective vinyl laid on top of 3M 1080 black brushed aluminum. I'm a little concerned that I might not get the proper...
  14. Realtree camo patterns

WOW, I didn't know about the Bushwolf patterns - way better than what I've been able to get through camowraps.com . The repeating pattern always bothered the crap out of me. Time to ditch realtree, shame on me for not looking more into this.
  15. Ritrama 7244 Insignia Blue equivalent

Sorry for this annoying kind of post - but I don't seem to have a Ritrama swatch book handy - my customer doesn't care what kind of vinyl I use, but all he knows is it has to match Ritrama 7244 Insignia Blue. I have the easiest time getting in Avery IC 600 - and was hoping if someone could...
  16. Need some advice on how to wrap this

Thanks guys - and yeah - 5 hours was a lot for this job, but I had a feeling he was picky so I didn't rush it. Not really sure how to approach this with him, when I went to see the flares I had a hard time not just saying "This is what you called me here to look at?". I have a feeling this...
  17. Need some advice on how to wrap this

So, this local company approached me a few weeks ago, these guys do lift kits on trucks - basically they make them look like whoever is driving it is compensating for something... ANYWAY, this guy was taking his truck to SEMA in Vegas, and the company that had originally wrapped the truck in 3M...
  18. Shop table surfaces

Thanks for the tips guys, got my 5x10' speedpress rhino mat ordered!! For the price and how much I wanted to mess with this, seemed like the way to go.
  19. Shop table surfaces

So I've joined the entrepreneurial world and broke away from the sign shop I've been at for years and am going to try this on my own.. I did some digging in earlier posts and just wanted to have a more up-to-date conversation if there are some new products out there. Anyway, I've built a 5x10'...
  20. Problem with banding on AGFA Anapurna M4f

Tim, We're having the exact same issues on our M4F. Were you able to diagnose what was wrong? We typically print in 4 pass bidirectional, but found the banding lines almost disappear in 8 pass bidirectional. It works, but it's not really a solution - our prints now take twice as long.
