  1. Roland Disappointment XR-640

I'd like to hear what the issue is as well. I have 2 XR-640's and I also get head strikes when the prints gets out to around 30'. This is on calendered vinyl. Just today, for example, I ran a job on unidirectional and by the time it was at 25' it started head striking. Same thing the other day...
  2. Summa Winplot & Illustrator CC

Are you running on Windows or OSX? I recently loaded them to a couple machines with both operating systems. I noticed the OSX version for Illustrator CC is available from a separate link on the Summa downloads section of the site. (The Windows version being bundled in with all the other...
  3. 60 Degree T Blade Vendors (Besides Clean Cut)

Aside from Summa directly, does anybody have a good source for 60 Degree T Blades? I know Clean Cut Blades are the obvious choice, but they've put a hold on this particular type until they sort out some issues. Suggestions?
  4. Soljet XF

"The Fastest Roland Printer Ever" it read. Possibly a dual cmyk setup, something like the Epson 30670.
  5. Soljet XF

I'm not exactly a fan of teaser videos for equipment either, but... Freezing the video frames, it appears to have 7 or 8 ink cartridges on the top left like the Versacam models. Looks like there are more than 11 pinch rollers spaced very close together. Sublimation printer like the FP-740 perhaps?
  6. settings?

If you're kiss-cutting (contour cutting) knife pressure shouldn't need much, maybe 70-90g. If you're cutting through the backing, you'll need around 230g+ and a 60 degree blade. Also, if you ever have any troubles figuring things out, Summa tech support is great. They're very helpful and...
  7. so... what's up with the surecolor?

Is it possible to run the S70 with the white ink, but without the metallic silver? Anyone know?
  8. SureColor 70600 - RIP Info?

Thanks Rooster. I'll go check that out.
  9. SureColor 70600 - RIP Info?

Has anybody heard what RIP Epson will be including for the 8/10 color SureColor S70600 that was announced last month? Will they even be including one at all? Epson is slow at getting any info up on the U.S. site and I haven't seen mention of it elsewhere, unlike the 30600 (30670) which they...
  10. Epson SureColor S30670

On a side note: Epson has also just announced two other SureColor printers at Drupa. The SureColor SC-S50600 is a high speed 4 or 5 color double cmyk or cmyk + white and the SureColor SC-S70600 is a 8 or 10 ink (white and metallic). The 8 or 10 color model is said to have cmyk+lc+lm+orange+light...
  11. Your thoughts of new Epson's SureColor wide format printer.

The thing that most surprised me was that they came out with a 4 color ink system. That seems to be a reversal of direction from most of Epson's other professional printers which are 8-11 colors. I could see them having gone with 6 colors, but 4 seems like a big change. What will be the...
