  1. Anyone install letters on this surface and live to tell about it?

We did an install a few years back at a newly constructed Medical Spa. Found out as we were drilling the last letter into the wall that it was a custom designed / custom ordered wall that cost $10,000 per panel. I would ask up front before you install what the cost is. Had we done so we...
  2. Automark 230-231

We use Automark 230 in our shop all the time. However, our installers tell us not to use it on box trucks with rivets as anything that is not cast wrap film will fail around the rivets. Have other shops seen this happen?
  3. Onyx 10.0 and transparency

Try saving your file as a TIFF out of Corel. We run into this every once in awhile when we receive PDF's from our clients. We open the PDF in Photoshop then save it as a TIFF. Leave compression settings at "none" when making the TIFF and all layers "on". It works every time.
  4. Star Media Poly Banner on Latex

We went through this issue on and off for years. Tried different settings and we'd be OK for awhile, but the issue always seemed to come back. We have an L260 and a L26500 and are running Onyx. We came across the "fix" when our HP dealer, who also prints to the trade, told us that they solved...
  5. Looking for a used Colex router

Call Northlight. They have two. 847-293-2702 and ask for Brian.
  6. Still printing red.... new profile helped a little, still red though

You are on the right track with the printheads. We have both a Latex L260 and an older L26500 and once in awhile we'd get a cyan shift. We'd run a Printhead Alignment, and they'd all look OK. What I found was that my operator was trying to do us right by keeping the heads forever. The tech...
  7. Wheres my ONYX cut files going?

We just had this happen. Check your Cutting Path layer and make sure that the line is saves as a "swatch".
  8. How do you work with big companies?

If you are going to chase this type of work you need to find trusted vendors to outsource to. Both for installations and direct-to-board printing. Establish their "trustability" by working with them on smaller projects, even those that you can easily and less expensively do yourself in-house...

  10. Installing Printed Wall Graphic On Existing Vinyl Wallcovering

Our client is asking us to install a printed graphic over an existing vinyl wall covering. And, just to make matters worse, the existing wall vinyl has a slight texture. Project is for a hospital and this is the only location that we have available in this particular waiting room. Application...
