    blast from the past brings back a lot of memories of older signwriters. dont know if i quite agree with throwing in the towl bit. back then it was more or less a secret society everybody kept their skills to themselves and shared with nobody. pissy billy was the most talented signwriter in town...

    pnc 950 64 bit absolutely fine for me with win7/64 bit with usb to ieee 1284 parallel cable. another option install parallel card in new system. dunno about win 8. great cutter bullet proof. software could be only obstacle

    just upgrded to 9.1 small learning curve from 4.95 lol. hardware also trikey that is new scanner/ parallel cards, usb to serial cable, new custom compter moniter etc. took about a month to work out bugs. cost approx 4k. another 3k lost sales, some clients could wait 2 systems crashed a week...

  8. Best way to join 2 pieces of HDU for long sign?

    1 inch ship lap gorilla glue wood screws to hold together untill dry. remove screws fill holes autobody fill, block sand seam ensuring smooth joint. skim coat entire sign with spot putty sand smooth this will ensure no shiners from seam and screw holes.

    99.9% was just me being lazy not mixing the paint! take the same paint mix the hell out of it new brush see what happens. never ever had a problem with one shot in 35 years problems were always on my end oily brush etc.

    ouch! what i like to do is use my t square backwards t side closest to me applying pressure with left hand farthest away, never allowing right hand to cross over left.the pressure of knife pulling forward keeps material against the t. has worked well for me.

    aquired same equipment approximately 2 months ago with 50 used foils misc vinyl etc.paid $3500 spent 500 dollars 3rolls of 651 oracal and a couple z nine foils, machine has paid for itself already! not bad 80s tecnology lol.

    32 years sign eperience. hand lettering/carving screen printing vinyl work etc. just aquired edge printer dunno much about it. hope some folks here can help.
