  1. Logo Advice And Opinions

I'm digging this thread back up because y'all helped me a lot with this logo, and I wanted to show you what I ultimately came up with. Thank you for all of your help!! Pete
  2. Logo Advice And Opinions

Wow!! So much help! And not just criticisms, but you people spent time coming up with suggestions and alternatives to my thinking. You have been incredibly valuable and entertaining. Thank you! I will go back to work on it!
  3. Logo Advice And Opinions

That looks really cool, but I can't put an actual car on there because a lot different types of cars could be potentially used in the school and other events.
  4. Logo Advice And Opinions

You people are a scream. This is equally entertaining as it is helpful, and I am really entertained here. Oh my god, that is funny. I keep looking at it and laughing. I'm going to print it out and put it on my fridge. Anyway, back to trying to be serious if I am able to at this point. So I'll...
  5. Logo Advice And Opinions

That's great! I love the idea with the U, but the team I race for is called ArmsUp Motorsports and they use a similar guy in their logo. I'm not against using it though.....
  6. Logo Advice And Opinions

I like the different font for the Racing School text and just the black and white. I think a few words each with a different color makes it look like I ate crayons and puked on the paper. Thanks!
  7. Logo Advice And Opinions

I'm interested in why you don't like those fonts...and so vehemently. :) Personal preference or some design thing that I'm ignorant of? Can't disagree on the colors. I wasn't real sure of them to begin with, but I think you confirmed it. I'll work on that. And I'm liking the stacked design...
  8. Logo Advice And Opinions

True. Maybe it's technically more of a "mark" than a logo, but some of the most successful companies in the world use marks: Amazon, GMC, 3M, Google, FedEx, etc. For what this is trying to accomplish, it sorta needs to be a mark.
  9. Logo Advice And Opinions

Yeah, maybe just center "Racing School" under "Level UP" and bag the podium visual. It would make it more compact and easier to place it on apparel and such.
  10. Logo Advice And Opinions

Hi all, I created this logo for a new racing school business. The school intends to take people who drive race cars or would like to drive race cars and make them better at it...no matter what skill level they are at, hence Level Up Racing School. I designed the logo to abstractly look like a...
  11. Drawing a track map for vinyl sign

RA truly is a gem here in the Midwest. It's an old old race track, yet it is very modern and up to date. They spend millions on the place just about every year. If you come to the Hawk this year, stop by the ArmsUp Motorsports paddock and say hi. I run a dark blue '73 911 RSR #57. My teammates...
  12. Drawing a track map for vinyl sign

You guys are brilliant. Thank you!! And somehow, now when I send it to GreatCut, it is much more accurate. All y'all fixed both problems. And RG, we don't generally use the "y'all" word up here, but I throw it around once in a while ever since my daughter went to Mississippi State. We have...
  13. Drawing a track map for vinyl sign

Hi, I'm kind of a newbie, and always search for answers before I post a question, but I don't really know what to search for. I'm trying to draw a race track map that will be output to vinyl and applied to several white boards. I want the borders of the track (the edges of the road) to be 1/8"...
  14. Paint protection for race car leading edges

That's great info. I'll talk to them about their options. Thank you very much! Good question. That's exactly what they do. They have spares for just about everything on the cars, and they have them for this intake. They're just trying to see if there's a way to add life to the part so they...
  15. Paint protection for race car leading edges

Is it removable like PlastiDip so the parts can be repainted occasionally? Could I just spray over the top of a previously dipped area in case it does get dinged?
  16. Paint protection for race car leading edges

That would work, for sure. And if it still gets a big enough ding, I could probably just do a quick repair with the spray. I'm going to test that today. Thanks!
  17. Paint protection for race car leading edges

It is, in fact, just an intake, not a blower. And I'm not "wasting my time" because it's a race car. This particular team has several million dollars worth of race cars in the shop. Another team I work with has about four million. These are not late model stock cars running on dirt at the fair...
  18. Paint protection for race car leading edges

On the side, I help out a couple race teams with some cut-vinyl graphic stuff. Haha, clearly no threat to you pros! For this project, I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to put some vinyl or Xpel or Suntek on this piece (and other leading edges of the car) to protect it from stone chips...
  19. Mac w/Parallels, Problem sending to GCC Puma III

Wasn't really sure where to put this because it's kind of an odd combo and I'm new to Macs. It was working after setup by Ruth at GCC, but now during Christmas weekend, it decides not to. I'll give her a call back after Christmas, but thought I'd run it by y'all to see if I could get it going...
  20. What should I charge?

I've heard that too about the "never retreating" thing. Interesting stuff. Love the history of things like that.
