Purchased! Looking forward to getting this on the printer!
  2. XC 540 - Interesting Banding, Thoughts?

Problem found! Faulty Damper. We had a tech come out this morning and found the issue to be a damper that needed to be replaced. Which is why it was only banding on specific reds.
  3. XC 540 - Interesting Banding, Thoughts?

I'm fairly new to the forum and the signage world (my background is mostly identity design). Attached is a photo that shows to different print files. both cmyk. The print on the left is a solid vector color. The print on the right is taken from an image. Both came from Illustrator files. Any...
  4. Need font help please

What The Font If you haven't already tried it. What the Font is really helpful for identifying fonts. Hope that is helpful, and a new resource for you!
  5. Funky Junk in my print.

Oh my... Mr. Castek - you are my HERO! :rock-n-roll: Colors look fantastic, no junk in the prints, no more guesswork and wasted media. Thank you!! :U Rock: Attached is the test print. Other than taking the picture from my crappy phone camera, it looks great. Thanks again :)
  6. Funky Junk in my print.

I have not tried it because I haven't had the time. I've had my Roland running all day today getting prints ready for a couple wraps we're doing this week. I plan to try it as soon as my que is clear ~ 4:30 today. I'll post the results here. :thumb:
  7. Funky Junk in my print.

I have no idea what this is or where to do it. Btw I'm having this issue throughout all my prints where there should be white space. I even created white lettering with a black outline & shadow (100% vector) to test the theory and still have the pinkish grey fill inside the white letters when...
  8. Funky Junk in my print.

Samples Since I forgot to attach these Friday... here they are. Hope this helps clarify the problem I'm having better.
  9. Funky Junk in my print.

I'd call this a transparency issue, but my search results say otherwise... I'm designing in Illy (on Windows 7), exporting as EPS to my RIP, loading into VersaWorks 4.6 and printing. I've used the same file without incident previously... but for some reason it's giving me grief now. I've...
  10. Red.

Pantone 200/201C is what I had in mind. For this particular job I used RVW-DP43-K, printed on cheap 13 oz scrim banner. Thanks for the advice thus far! :rock-n-roll:
  11. Red.

Having issues getting my XC-540 to print a good red. Talked to the techs at Roland and was told to use their color profiles when designing and I wouldn't have the issue.... Not a single one of their reds prints a true 'fire engine' red. Other than using cut media, do you guys have any...
  12. XC-540 SolJet printing horizontal lines

settings For those pics I was using: 30" White - 3M 7725 Scotchcal ElectroCut HP with Synthetic Liner I know it's not ideal for printing in the SolJet, but my production manager (and my boss) insists. We've been printing on it for two months now without having this problem. I have the...
  13. XC-540 SolJet printing horizontal lines

Nozzle check Looks fine as far as I can tell.
  14. XC-540 SolJet printing horizontal lines

I've done a thorough cleaning of the heads/wipers/etc., run a nozzle check, wiped the encoder strip down, and tried different medias (3M/Oracal/Aspire). Still getting these lines... Seems to get worse the longer the print runs too. Suggestions? :thankyou:
  15. My first submission.

Final Talked the customer into removing some junk. Used the reverse suggestion. Like it? :help
  16. My first submission.

I wasn't able to control the copy for the signs... I'm the newest addition to the small shop I work for and the last designer let them get away with all this junk every time they placed an order so I'm stuck with it. Thanks for the feedback and props!
  17. My first submission.

It's a 4x8 banner, or rather 5 of them. Viewed from about 100 feet on a two-lane city street from now until Mother's day weekend. Thanks for the responses thus far. I wanted to do part of the info in a reverse but it cluttered up the banner to much.
  18. My first submission.

Be gentle, but honest. This is my first submission for your critique. The logo is was created by them but the rest is my design. :thankyou:
  19. Using the Gerber to cut VersaWorks prints.

Printing with a Roland SolJet XC-540, using VersaWorks as my RIP software. I have been told it is possible to cut the printed (and laminated) product using my Gerber FC7000 since the SolJet cuts are terrible. Thanks guys.
  20. Using the Gerber to cut VersaWorks prints.

Is it possible? And if so, how? Google'd my heart out and read the user manual to no avail :banghead: . Any assistance is much appreciated.
