    Thanks Guys... In response.. to jiarby yes The light house is a local landmark in Jupiter,Florida. Unfortunately, we just got word that the client rejected this design, and just wants to stick with the layout they used the last three years ( that we did) ... oh well, cant win 'em all.

    Drag your vector into the brush palette (window > brushes) Create a new pattern brush. Click OK ( twice) Create your circle or rectangle, then click on the brush you just created as the stroke.
  8. why is laminating such a PAIN :frustrated:

    Here's the trick... ( i have the exact same setup but no heat) Take the rolled prints from the take up system straight to the laminator. Leave the print on the roll and feed it through. I have laminated well over 100 linear feet without a problem.
  9. Do you leave your computer on 24/7?

    If i'm going to be away for more than an hour or so I shut down... set to automatically sleep after 10 min. ... why keep a hard drive(s) spinning 24/7... that's just a waste.

    Yeah - The sarah script thing is pretty popular lately. I had a customer wanting the same look as Hydro's. I came up with this. It can be a little labor intensive to modify fonts but sometimes the results are worth the effort.

    Take up reel is worth every penny! I went a few years without and wish I had bought it when I started. Unattended printing is gold. Make money while you sleep,literally.

    a 48" by 240" @75 dpi reduces down to a 4.1 mb jpg. You don't need any more resolution than that to get a great print.

    You need to learn to place more value on the design and not just the signs you make. Flame nailed it... If you give away your design work your telling your customer that it's not worth anything at all.

    Nope- No issues- just make sure your network settings ( password, etc) on the mac are the same the pc's and that's it. Its really pretty easy. I exchange all the common files ( ai. psd, eps pdf flexi jpg etc) between operating systems without any problems.

    We have 4 mac pros and two PC's in my shop. No network problems whatsoever. True type & Open Type fonts work on both platforms. I actually have windows installed on my mac and it runs great..but then again I only use it for a few things like checking what a web page will look like in a pc...
