  1. Roland SG-540 Does not recognize new ink cartridge

I have seen this before, sometimes the sensor or the flag that tells it the bag is present, gets out of position and the flag is just not breaking the sensor as it should, and it thinks there is no bag there. If you pull the top left and back cover on that side, it will expose the bags and...
  2. Need Help HP 365 Latex issues

The PIP is what controls the pressure to the PH. They usually throw errors, but I have seen them just be faulty with no errors. If ink is dropping out after starting good, then I would be looking at that for sure. I am not sure why the encoder was replaced, that has nothing to do with the ink...
  3. Switched to TR2 inks and now have roller tracks now and not before

Curious what the wheels have to do with ink fading? Look, I never use all of the wheels, they are not needed. Even on 18oz banner I use only 4 equally spread out. Vinyl just the 2 outside ones. If you are laminating and cutting, then I would also use 4 spaced as evenly as possible. Heat runs the...
  4. Need Help HP 365 Latex issues

Have you color calibrated lately? I would grab the Generic SAV profile clone it, be sure to put a check in the Long print box and rename it whatever and perform a color calibration and see if that resolves it. I normally set the first step on the saturation at 100% and lower the heat to 200...
  5. Roland SG-540 Does not recognize new ink cartridge

What Firmware do you have on the machine? current version is for TR2 ink is 4.10 is the most current if you have 4.00 then upgrade the FW. It could just be coincidence and the chip can be bad. I have seen it before. If you have another bag stick it in there, just to see. If FW is current and...
  6. Roland VersaArt RS-640 with HD Take Up System LOCAL PICKUP ONLY

It is a fully functioning Roland RS-640 VersaArt sign making machine. It is in very good shape. All of the heads are full and printing perfectly, low hours on the motors. It is fast and produces fantastic results on just about any roll media. Has a working heavy duty take up unit attached. If...
  7. Help JV33 black losing black ink

Sightline- I hate to say, but I have done this and it has fixed the problem with OPEN AIR bulk systems. If it alternates between carts, the ink lines are still being fed, no matter which cart or solenoid is open. So with that said, let me ask you a question because it appears you have some good...
  8. Lost left side Magenta

Slightline You are correct, thats why I was asking. Those are called "S" dampers, and they will squirt ink all over you if you squeeze the spring So beware. I wanted him to look, obviously if they were less than full that could be pointing to a flow problem, (ie air being induced) Good...
  9. Versaworks 540i

Yea that 170 got my attention to!! Cant help ya without the answers to my questions.
  10. Roland RS-640 Printing just stopped

If you want to reduce file size while not hurting your output... PDF is the way to go. JPG is a bad suggestion, it may work for you but you are the minority. Even though your using those high quality settings when saving, you are still compressing the file and that will cause issues down...
  11. Please help - VS 540 printing issue

Well that must have just come out within the last day or two, I have not updated my Roland database since last Friday because I have been on an HP Flatbed install this week. Nevertheless, I doubt its FW, but its always good to update. My suggestion would be do ONE thing at a time, so you...
  12. prints not solid on VS-640

Signguy Although Arlon is not the best choice of medias, its still a decent material that will usually render a good result. Be mindful that media companies are not perfect they do run into issues when making media. I cant tell you how many times in life repairing machines, that I have...
  13. HP Scitex FB500

The FB500/700 machines are great machines. I really enjoy installing and training on these machines. The accessories are cool having the ability to print white and then go back to 6 color after you complete all your white jobs and although they are a pain in the butt the roll to roll system is a...
  14. Help Replacing mutoh 1616 Print head

Changing the head is fairly straight forward, its the adjustments and calibrations that are the difficult steps. I would highly recommend having an experience person do that. If you do something wrong, you can really cost yourself alot of money. Good Luck
  15. Mutho Falcon J. O-rings - HELP!

Jim I am a bit confused by your question. Can you take a pic of the area you are referring to, maybe point at it?
  16. jv400

May I ask why this Model? Just curious
  17. Lost left side Magenta

How much ink is in the damper? Are you running a bulk ink system? You can try syringing through the cap. You have two lines coming from the cap going to the waste bottle. I would block off the right side line on the cap, and put a syringe on the left line and pull through it. Run a cleaning...
  18. Help JV33 black losing black ink

The ink delivery system on these printers really sucks with bulk ink systems. First I am going to say that open air systems cause problems, sooner or later you will experience ink delivery problems. Running actual cartridges will fix most ink delivery problems you are currently experiencing...
  19. Lost left side Magenta

Is this a JV-33? What model printer do you have?
  20. prints not solid on VS-640

Arlon 6000 XRP is what he stated. Mudmedia: Beware that to much heat doesnt allow the ink to gain likes its design to. Which can cause color issues. I also understand that Humidity and Ambient Temp is a factor too, but I am just throwing that out there.
