  1. VS 300i print cut misalignment with crop marks.

Don't take the media out, and observe what happens when you do a print & cut before you pull it out and laminate. Does it cut better? Something tells me it might be how the media is getting loaded back in after you laminate it. Those older VS models are very picky; you need to line that media...
  2. Question Roland SJ-1045EX Soljet Pro II V

On that thicker canvas material, you should probably set your head height to "high", you can manually reach your hand in by the head and flip a lever to pull it up. Though it may be different for the SJ-1045EX. After raising the head, you will need to adjust your settings after moving the head up.
  3. Need Help VG3-54 - Starvation issue?

Hi Bryce, I'll make it a daily practice to shake the ink and see if that aids in resolving the issue. However, do you have any insights into why printing in Uni-directional mode completely resolves the banding problem? I'm not entirely convinced that it's solely an ink bladder issue; it seems...
  4. Roland VS-540i... to trash or not to trash

The VS-540i proves itself as a reliable printer. I continue to operate my VS-540i, alongside the new Roland VG3, which I haven't been to impressed with, IMO. Keep VS-540i in your arsenal and consider replacing the heads, dampers, and captop.
  5. versaworks missed a cutline???

Another issue that may arise is when saving/printing as a .pdf, and if the cutline slightly falls outside the artboard. This could be related to the stroke and its alignment on the inside and outside. In such cases, VersaWorks might not detect the cutline.
  6. Need Help VG3-54 - Starvation issue?

I'll inquire about the fill sensor. Yes, dampers were replaced when installing new heads, although I'm unsure if they were the latest generation; I presume so? Could you provide guidance on damper fill using the VG3 touch screen? The room temperature typically hovers around 72-74 degrees. The...
  7. Need Help VG3-54 - Starvation issue?

The tech has replaced 3 heads already; it doesn't seem to fix the issue. I'll give the pause to refill the dampers a try, but when running in Uni-directional mode, I believe that is giving the dampers a second to catch up and will print just fine.
  8. Need Help VG3-54 - Starvation issue?

Tech thinks that it is static; I purchased and installed an anti-static kit and this has done nothing and seems to have actually made it worse. I ordered a humidifier to get the humidity up in my print room and see if that helps at all. https://stopstatic.com/product/wide-format-kit4/ This is...

  10. Need Help VG3-54 - Starvation issue?

Only authentic TR2 inks are used, and they are consistently agitated when prompted by the machine. Manual cleaning of the heads is performed in response to the system's cleaning prompts. I take meticulous care of this printer, similar to how I care for my dependable 10+ year old VS540i, which...
  11. Need Help VG3-54 - Starvation issue?

I've been encountering banding issues with my VG3-54 printer, which I purchased on 12/29/22, its a little over a year old. The problem is that the print starts out strong but progressively worsens during the printing process. It initiates with a solid, dense fill, transitioning into thin...
  12. SP 540V Cutting Issue

While this doesn't serve as a solution, consider incorporating a bleed into your artwork. It appears that there's currently no bleed, and you're cutting directly along the edge of the black oval. This should give you some wiggle room.
  13. Question Roland Versaworks - Ink Droplet Icon

    Thank you, Weyanadsign.
  14. Question Roland Versaworks - Ink Droplet Icon

Well for some more context, I am having my Cyan head replaced. So I wonder if it's related something along those lines. But you would think there would be some kind of documentation on it; the tech here doesn't have a clue.
  15. Question Roland Versaworks - Ink Droplet Icon

I understand the logic, but that's what the Explanation point with the triangle is warning us about? Meaning that they are getting low. When the cartridge is empty, the machine will tell you and stop printing. I've been running these machines for over 10 years, I can't say that I have ever...
  16. Question Roland Versaworks - Ink Droplet Icon

I need help identifying an icon; I have take a screenshot and posted it below: It is the Circle with the ink droplets. I can't find any documentation on it, or I am not searching correctly. Thank you
  17. .EPS files from AI

I would try making a new file; copy and paste all the info into a new doc, save it as a .eps and also as a .pdf, try both of those files. If you save as a .pdf and bring it into Versaworks, it will see the extra white on artboard, fyi. Maybe even try restarting Versaworks and run as admin...
  18. Suggestions Roland VG3-540 - Ink Status not updating

Roland pushed another firmware update to fix the issue. It seems to have resolved the issue.
  19. Suggestions Roland VG3-540 - Ink Status not updating

Just upgraded from a VS-540i to a new VG3-540 a couple weeks ago. Ink status always shows full and doesn't show ink consumption on Versaworks, or through the printers GUI. I've tried 'update' through printer status in Versaworks, restarting Versaworks, Printer and PC. I am all up to date on...
