  1. PROBLEM: Dry ink line (tube) in ipf9000, Blue (ink cart#1)

Thanks...I was guessing, if those parts are up there, these might be culprit. Without a schematic (Blow-up diagram, parts list), I don't know what's there...so I thought I'd ask others who may have experience (or diagrams). Thanks James
  2. PROBLEM: Dry ink line (tube) in ipf9000, Blue (ink cart#1)

Hello- I've had a problem for a few weeks with my Canon ipf9000 printer. Does anybody have a "blown up" parts diagram? Better yet, anybody know what part(s) need service? I've done everything I can think of to try to address it without completely disassembling the machine. I've...
  3. IPF9000 head cleaning menu confusing ("Right/Left" vs "A/B")

FYI "A" is light cleaning, "B" is heavy cleaning. FYI "A" is light cleaning, "B" is heavy cleaning.
  4. IPF9000 head cleaning menu confusing ("Right/Left" vs "A/B")

Canon iPF 9000, been running great since I removed the print heads and spent a weekend cleaning them both by hand...recently, as it starts to print, I get a message that seems more of a suggestion than a warning or error. "Clean Right Print Head, choose OK to proceed". Pushing OK starts...
  5. Used Hotronix, or new Vesta Heat Press?

Thanks for the feedback...I bought the Hotronix unit, it was in mint condition. He threw in several (large) rolls of heat transfer vinyl, too. Just one step closer to retirement.
  6. Used Hotronix, or new Vesta Heat Press?

Hello- I'm torn about a decision I have to make today...buy a "very lightly used" Hotronix stx20 for a thousand bucks out the door, or a brand new Vesta for about $650 plus tax (almost 9%). Hotronix is a clamshell unit, for $1,000 and no tax...pretty much nothing more to say (unless somebody...
  7. Summacut d620 or Graphtec vs. newer unit?

Thanks, Frank...this aligns with my thinking when I asked the question. People don't seem to be too upset with the performance of the newer units, as much saying the brand names are better... Still thinking. Thanks
  8. Summacut d620 or Graphtec vs. newer unit?

I saw your ad, but everybody knows that shipping anything past the 3rd Quadrant is pure lunacy, what with the cease-fire being so tenuous...
  9. Summacut d620 or Graphtec vs. newer unit?

Greetings- I need to ask a question before I buy a vinyl plotter/cutter. I can see that there's a strong preference to machines that cost more (for all the right reasons), and I lean that way myself. Here's the question: Are there any specific *advantages* to buying one of the new...
  10. info needed re: pads below parked printheads in Canon iPF 9000

Yeah, you'd think. They seem to be a scintered stone...pretty interesting. I just left them alone and cleaned the heck out of the printheads...and I'm getting beautiful prints again (after some scary looking initial prints). Dodged a $1000 bullet there (2 print heads x $500) Whew!
  11. info needed re: pads below parked printheads in Canon iPF 9000

I guess the subject line says it all...I'm trying to figure out what the "pads" that are underneath the parked printheads, but above the Maintenance Cart. I cleaned the heads (what a mess they were), and ordered a new Maint. Cart...but I'm afraid to put it all together until I figure out...
  12. RIP software compatibility for Canon iPF8000 and iPF 9000?

Thanks for the encouragement. I went ahead and placed the order for Wasatch. I won't be surprised at all if somebody were to come forward (now that I've placed the order) and say "look at the strange USB Key that we found...", nothing surprises me around here anymore. Thanks again James
  13. RIP software compatibility for Canon iPF8000 and iPF 9000?

Thanks for the message(s) with real-world info, and for checking the compatibility list...I appreciate it. Your comment about a line of students waiting for AO posters is a familiar one, for sure. The only thing worse is a line of 200 who want "Class readers/notes" before they have to go to...
  14. Hello Signs 101 - Thank you for having me!

Welcome from another new member (in So Cal)!
  15. RIP software compatibility for Canon iPF8000 and iPF 9000?

Is this in the wrong "category"? I wasn't sure which to use, and this is the only one that I noticed specifically mentioned wide format printers. If I posted to the wrong section, feel free to let me know! Thanks James
  16. Greetings from Southern California

Hmmm. This must be a policy they've changed or don't offer proactively (or perhaps I didn't ask the right questions), they never mentioned or asked for a Police Report. I talked to them, and they acknowledged our owning the software (even gave me the serial number of our dongle) and the...
  17. Greetings from Southern California

We're "self-insured", which probably makes more sense to the State than to me. Sadly, there's a $5,000 deductible unless there's a "forced entry" (broken door or window, etc.). Nothing of the sort, somebody used a key...probably in broad daylight. There are so many levels of people with...
  18. RIP software compatibility for Canon iPF8000 and iPF 9000?

Hello- The more I learn, the less I seem to know about this... I've been lurking around for a while and learning what I can...now I have questions specific to our printers. We have a Canon ipf8000 and an ipf9000. Looking at these RIP software titles: Wasatch Softrip (Canon version, 4...
  19. Greetings from Southern California

Hello- The forums here have a lot of useful information, but just as soon as I think I've come to a decision I learn something new about one product vs another. I joined a few weeks ago when I started my search to replace ONYX Poster Shop 10.x w/3 printer license. Our dongle was...
