  1. High Ink - Day/Night Quality

Danno, could you share some of your settings? I use Onyx 10 and an HP L26500 printer. Forgot to mention that detail before. I think we'd probably have a problem with ghosting since this printer uses a lot of heat. I've noticed it a lot with tiled prints.
  2. High Ink - Day/Night Quality

I've heard of this method. Most of the acrylic we use is white, rarely do we use clear. Will it work with white acrylic? I only use clear vinyl for reverse prints, and white trans for first surface prints.
  3. High Ink - Day/Night Quality

Has anyone figured out a profile that produces the correct colors for translucent prints that looks great both day time and when lit at night? We've struggled with how dark the higher ink prints look during the day. Most customers aren't happy with it. Haven't figured out the Ink Limits or...
  4. Need some info on the HP 26500.

I'm not sure. When you right click the job in Onyx 10 you only have the option to change the pass mode. You have to go into Media Manager and go deeper to change the DPI settings. Maybe there is another way to do it but I have never increased to the higher DPI setting. The output quality is very...
  5. Need some info on the HP 26500.

I've seen the option to change the DPI for profiles in Onyx, but it will slow down the print time. It's only really useful for canvas prints, posters, etc. Go into Media Manager if you want to play around with the higher DPI settings. For head strikes, just increase the vacuum pressure in the...
  6. Anyone have success tiling banners on the HP Latex 260?

Our L26500 has those issues. Haven't solved them completely but here are a few suggestions. Use Onyx Scale Adjust to fix the length issue. The heat causes the material to shrink and this helps fix that problem. Run it on each material you use. On tiles and color shifting... This machine is...
  7. Latex compatible static cling?

Try Solvex's white static cling vinyl. Had no problems with it and it's cheap.
  8. Color bleeding on L26500

In the last week I changed the black/yellow and magenta printheads. This is only the second time in a year of owning the machine. We noticed a huge change in color, seems darker then before. Reds and blacks are bleeding together. See attached. Talked to HP and we got a new set of printheads to...
  9. Scratching on prints for L26500

I use the default profile for IJ180 which is: dry temp 131(max) cure temp 230 vacuum 25 I increased the vacuum to 30-35 and usually does the trick, but not always. I haven't tried decreasing the temp, wasn't sure what it would do for drying. I had to increase the temp for high ink prints...
  10. Ink price L25500 or L26500

We buy the ink from our distributor for $140 a cartridge. Printheads are $101.
  11. HP L26500 Calibrating Error

I've never had an issue with the i1 built into the machine. Do you have the latest firmware installed in the printer? Which version of Onyx do you have?
  12. Scratching on prints for L26500

jhilldesigns: The heat is at the default setting for the profile so I don't know if I should lower it. Castek: I believe its the carriage scratching the media. I have used the take-reel with the metal tension bar and without it. The humidity is down to 20% in the room.
  13. Scratching on prints for L26500

Got our L26500 printer back in January of 2012. In December I started having issues when printing with 60" and 54" 3M controltac and translucent vinyl. Nearly every print job now has what looks like scratching in the middle of the machine. It varies from where it happens during printing...
  14. Hello from Iowa!

Hello, I'm a graphic designer for a full service sign company in Waterloo, Iowa. I also run our new HP L26500 latex printer. Been in the sign business for almost 4 years. I finally joined up after seeing how helpful the community is on this site. Sometimes the latex printer gives me headaches!
