So it looks like this guy is suggesting to flip the gasket inside of a DX5 printhead in order to get more life out of it. But as you can see in the image, this leaves a portion of the.... ink wells (?)... exposed. Also I don't understand how the head would still have suction from the pump...
Definitely having some issues with the capping station.
I've been able to confirm now that the head can print each channel ok for the most part, but the capping station is not doing it job and keeping the ink supply full.
So far I've replaced:
- Cap top
- The little hard tubes from the cap...
I've basically abandoned my DX5 based Mimaki JV33 for some time. The DX5 head was super clogged, the test print was mangled all over the place. There's even a visible "scratch" across the head.
So I figure, what the heck, I'll pull the head off the machine and clean it real good.
Using a fresh...
The printer had not been in use for quite a while. It's running Triangle JVV inks on the Easy Fill bulk ink system (SS21 compat inks). I am just trying to bring it back to life...
I've tried the following processes:
- Numerous nozzle washes ranging from 1 min - 24 hours (turning off the...
I'm trying to troubleshoot a different issue and wound up taking a bunch of photos.
Since the ink valve / solenoids thing comes up a lot for people trying to clear clogs, here's a photo of what it looks like back there for reference:
Personally, I open the valves through the menu system...
Is the RED led being lit on the JV33's X-Motor Relay board behind the cartridges indicative of anything? (or is this normal?)
(I originally thought it was the slider board, but the board I am talking about is NOT the one above the print head)
Hello all,
I'm a JV33 user. I was at "INK END" on my black ink using a Triangle Easyfill system. I still have black ink in the system. I've been meaning to buy permanent chips for a long time, just did that, and all other channels CCMMYY are now reset to 9's (full) but KK are still at 0...
I'm working slowly daily to clean the print head on my JV33 to bring it back to life. Unfortunately my black channel is now reporting "INK END" and won't let me perform any printing actions.. I plan to swap or refill inks and get new chips ASAP, but is there anything I can do now to get it to...
Can anyone share what you're paying for JVV inks? Or direct me to a vendor that you have good experience with in California.
I'm debating continuing with the Triangle JVV inks that came with the printer I bought Vs. swapping them out for something else. The best price I've found is a little...
I've got a clog on my JV33-160 and some older Triangle JVV ("true solvent") installed using Triangle's Easy-Fill bulk system. The system is currently installed with dual CMYK pass-through carts that come with the Triangle system.
After I flush the printer/head, change dampers, etc. I plan to...
I guess the magic buttons to hold are FUNCTION + REMOTE while turning on the "main" power.
I am able to get into parameter entry mode just fine, and I know electrically both the function + remote keys work.
Anyone have any issues getting into service mode on a JV33?
Search for "special key...
I've seen a few print head recovery systems out there priced from $1000 to several thousand dollars. After studying photos of them, they seem to be of pretty basic construction using readily available components like ultrasonic cleaners, solvent pumps, pressure regulators, etc. So I thought I...
I got sick and wasn't able to use my JV33-160 or clean it frequently (for approx 5 weeks).
It was plugged in and in sleep mode this whole time.
It's using Triangle EZ bulk system & nothing is kept in the cleaning cart.
Fearing the worst, I just tried it out again today and it seems that I...
