  1. PLEASE HELP! Service Mode Protected

I'm trying to change a print head on my vp-540 but when I turn on sub power while holding the left right and down buttons it says that the "Service Mode Is Protected" what does that mean and how do I get around it?
  2. Service manual for VP-540

Need help ASAP! Anyone know where I can get a service manual for a vp-540?
  3. I know there's no perfect printer, but help me get close...

Roland We have had our Roland VP-540 for 7 years and love it. It's a major workhorse and have had 0 problems. We previously used a Roland PC-600 and loved that machine too. Way too expensive to print with now, but in it's day it was a great printer. Has been relagated to cutting vinyl these...
  4. How to get grey color

RGB Cmyk Be careful when converting an RGB Bitmap to CMYK before printing. Most of the time this will make the colors "hot", or over saturated. I don't have a problem printing Bitmap graphics from the RGB file when I import it, then export to an eps from Corel Draw X4. RGB/CMYK problems occur...
  5. Illustrator>>>Corel draw problems

Why not just import the .ai file into Corel? It would probably have to be saved in CS1 or below and UNCOMPRESSED, but I think it would work. I use X4 and the only issue I have with AI files is that Corel doesn't like the compression Illustrator uses for some reason.
  6. Need help finding ColorCamm PC-600 Printhead # 22805387

Print Head This probably is going to be kinda vague because we haven't used our PC-600 for printing in quite awhile, but several years ago I replaced our head and was able to purchase one thru a distributor somewhere around Boston. Sorry I can't remember the name of the company. Have you tried...
  7. so i have this old pnc-950 of mine......and my old signmate software

Software You can probably run this on a 64 bit system IF you can get it installed and you can get hold of the proper drivers for your hardware. I've had issues installing 32 bit software on a 64 bit system because of issues with the install program.
  8. Subaru Legacy 2008 template

Template Don't have that one either. Have you tried looking on their website?
  9. Crazy what some people get away with.

Install I'd bet this was installed by the customer, not the sign company. Lucky someone wasn't killed by that thing if it fell off the roof.
  10. Outdoor paint that vinyl will stick to? or just wrap it?

Panels Save yourself a GIANT headache and use new panels. You'll probably find that it will cost the customer less for new panels then it would for your labor to refurbish.
  11. Subaru Legacy 2008 template

Template Is it the Legacy Outback or the Legacy Wagon?
  12. Looking to buy new printer opinions?

Printer We use a Roland VP-540 and we LOVE it! Been running it for almost 6 years and have only had 1 problem. We had to replace the black print head last year. Other than that works flawlessly. The print and cut alignment has always been dead on and the print quality is amazing. I would highly...
  13. Shout out!

Just wanted to give a shout out to Denco Sales out of Portland Oregon. Their service is second to none! Always super helpful with new products and products that are new to you. Go WAY out of their way to get you samples and helpful advice for anything and everything.
  14. Nazdar Inks

Thanks Pete Thanks for the input. We have always used the Roland inks with great success and have been hesitant to switch. We have had the printer since '07 and it has been a very reliable machine. Had to have the Black print head replaced last year, but other than the normal maintenance that's...
  15. Nazdar Inks

Wanted to know if anyone is using Nazdar Inks? We have a Roland VP-540 and are considering switching to aftermarket inks but I'm concerned about print quality versus OEM. Want to hear from someone actually using them, and what they think. Thanks in advance!
