  1. Computer type

I have 2 preferences for backup for Windows or from my Linux RAID software from Contribs.org . 1. Data files only - Winrar on the workstation, but you can set it up as a DOS type batch file so at night, 1 click and it zips it up into a rar file(s) and you can have it add info which adds a...
  2. Discussion How do you stay organized?

I agree with the creating and documenting systems. Unfortunately some employees will try job protection where they want to be the only ones that know how do the job, instead of realizing that if they can document the job so anyone can do it then they are so much more valuable and supervisor or...

  4. Best RIP for HP 570 latex + Roland 640?

I did find out today from Caldera the quote was actually the HP but including upgrade to VisualRip4 and 1 year maintenance.
  5. Best RIP for HP 570 latex + Roland 640?

If memory serves the current old RIP is a 2Ghz, Intel i7 which I think is 4 core, 12 Gigs RAM, and has a separate Graphics card . I did put in an inquiry to Caldera to see what they were actually offering me. I had told them the upgrade would be for a 700 HP Latex and we would be using the...
  6. Best RIP for HP 570 latex + Roland 640?

Thank you Balstestrat for the information about the heating button on the current Caldera RIP. We are running version 9 Caldera on the discontinued HP26500 Latex. My staff tells me they managed to source a last light Magenta so when the HP700 comes in our supplies on the old unit will be...
  7. Best RIP for HP 570 latex + Roland 640?

I realize it will fit any decent PC, I was just referencing the Mac mini being double and likely a year warranty. RIP times were not excessive on our previous Caldara, more annoying was the 5 minute warm up time to print after RIPPING, hopefully the new HP latex has figured a way to start the...
  8. Best RIP for HP 570 latex + Roland 640?

On our old HP Latex we used the Caldera on PC, we ordered a new HP700 latex last week with anticipated July delivery to our remote Canadian location. I think it might be time to update the RIP as previous was 2ghz with a regular SATA harddrive, but may I ask the benefit of a new Mac Mini vs...

  10. New HP Latex 700 and 800 series - with White ink

Ouch, I was afraid the W meant white ink as its 1000's extra and it seems there are many stories of people not getting enough use of it. Thanks, for the clarification.
  11. New HP Latex 700 and 800 series - with White ink

Silly question, what is printing width as I dont see in specs, is the 700 vs 700w 2 different widths? I was also trying to figure power difference to our now obsolete 26500, does this require me to run a additional 208 volt connection? I guess time to check breakers, see what was there.
  12. Best RIP for HP 570 latex + Roland 640?

According to this thread it has https://signs101.com/threads/flexi-vs-onyx-10.114339/ Or did they drop it? This xerox file will print out boxes behind art on a non pdf rip, items you will not see on a monitor, the pms gradients are a good test as well showing 25 50 75% as per label but may have...
  13. Best RIP for HP 570 latex + Roland 640?

Hey we have been using Caldera on a workstation pc with our HP for 7 years after starting with a free trial of it and Onyx. Onyx had just introduced the Adobe PDF capability and Caldara seemed to have been on it for a while and sailed through what would stop Onyx. With the new Mac mini available...
  14. The Vaccine - you going to take it or no?

Did they suggest supplements to keep it up ? Have they checked your Thyroid function? My wife's low Vitamin D count was an indicator of a overactive Thyroid issue, She takes a pill daily for the Thyroid hormone and a 2000 iu Vitamin D3. Her Vitamin D level recently checked at 35 with 30-100...
  15. The Vaccine - you going to take it or no?

But it is fat soluable so needs time to work itself in which would be the reason it is a bit late to get it once already sick with Covid. But still if your system was that low your doctor did that, those studies would indicate you would be at high risk of hospitalization if you did contract...
  16. The Vaccine - you going to take it or no?

We are semi retired wintering in Mexico away from our print and sign business that we are selling to our employees as a ESOP at our small retirement hotel on Playalinda beach Tapachula so may be last in line so I have time to use the following Conspiracy theory. Because of the links I am...
  17. I need car electronics and home electrical advice - not sign related.

Before you buy a transfer switch, write down your electrical panel make and model, then see if a approved adapter is available for it. This "approved" (made by panel manufacturer) adapter will force you to turn off the master switch while allowing a breaker next to it to turn on and that breaker...
  18. New 365 Hp Installed

What made you go with 365 versus cheaper but limited to about 55" , the 335? We are in the same position but concerned that current model will end up with no ink and parts in 5 years.
  19. What are you doing with your 25500/26000s?

  20. What are you doing with your 25500/26000s?

Are these HP or another companies, Who can I contact? Cost associated with this conversion on a 26500? Don't the later HP inks use some sort of Optimizer solution which I assume the 26500 would not have? What about cleaning kits and any other parts that might break?
