  1. Vutek color swith

Depending on the model, you might be able to just flip the switches on the pixel board to turn off the colors you don't want. You would have to do another profile though as the RIP will still think you are using 6 colors.
  2. Need Help Vutek 200/600

It looks like something is wrong with your MUX board (the communication board that's on the back wall in the ink cabinet). I can't remember if this is the one with a daughter board attached to it or if it is a single board. Either way, I would suggest making sure all your connections are tight...
  3. Efi Vutek Q2000 Problem

It s been a while since I worked on a QS but one of the issues we always had was the pixel data cable that ran through the umbilical was always getting worn. We get extra data printed whenever it flexed at the break. Other than that, I would have to point the finger at either the pixel board or...
  4. Illustrator and photoshop not printing same blue.

When creating a spot color in photoshop you have to make sure you name the color EXACTLY the same as what is in your RIP's Pantone library. If you don't you will just get the CMYK breakdown that is in the photoshop file. So if you are trying to use PMS 202C and your RIP's library is looking...
  5. Illustrator and photoshop not printing same blue.

We print white ink from photoshop all the time so I know it DOES save spot color info. We save it as a tif with spot colors checked and it works fine. We are using Caldera though so it sounds more like a RIP issue.
  6. Cleaning UV ink off print table

    Acetone as well
  7. HELP Adhesive all over Laminator Rollers

If this is a heated roller, best way I have found is to heat it and then use a belt sander cleaner (here's an example http://www.harborfreight.com/sanding-belt-cleaner-30766.html) takes a bit of elbow grease but it doesn't damage your rollers.
  8. Vutek 3250 secondary ink tank not filling up

This still sounds like air to me. If there is air in the pump, it won't move ink. This also occurs when there is air in the primary filter. If I recall correctly, these are not self-priming pumps so you have to squeeze the bag while it is trying to pump to force the air through the pump so...
  9. Voltage parameters for GS2000LX Pro

Are you referring to the +/- Voltage you had to plug into the VUI when you put in a new head? (yellow was -1.2V or something similar). If so, there is no offsets you need to worry about on the newer machines. Just plug in the voltages that come on the jet packs as is.
  10. Vutek 3250 secondary ink tank not filling up

If you can hear the pump working, its not the MUX board. Purge a different color. Do the pumps sound the same? My guess is that the one that isn't working sounds a lot quieter then the one for the color that works. When you replaced the pump and filter, did you prime the filter? If there is...
  11. Vutek 3250 secondary ink tank not filling up

When doing a purge to empty the tank, open up the sensors window in the VUI. You'll be able to monitor the float and pump. When the tank empties, the indicator for FULL should go off and the pump indicator should light up. If everything looks ok and the pump doesn't kick on, I'd look at...
  12. xc540 - 400% coverage looks clean, calibration doesn't fix green gray

We've found that the best for us to address this issue is to tweak our transition curves (light cyan and light magenta blends). Making sure those are just so helped with our grays tremendously.
  13. Summa S2 T series cutter with Caldera V10 and barcode workflow.

Its been a while since we set up our workflow so bear with me. Are you trying to cut directly from Caldera or are you using the software that came with the cutter? We found that if you run directly from Caldera, there is no need for the Barcode Server.
  14. Summa S2 T series cutter with Caldera V10 and barcode workflow.

We use Summa S2 Postnet with Caldera V9, but that is only half of the process. You also have to setup the Barcode Server in the Summa Cutter Control software that should have come with the cutter.
  15. Vutek QS3200 probems printing a layered file

I'd love to help but we no longer have our QS and have moved on from Colorburst. Why not call EFI (855-334-4457)? Their phone support is free, they'll just ask for the printer serial #. Those guys know these printers inside and out.
  16. Question for all of you that run custom profiles

I've been tasked with finding a workflow for our color management and I'm curious how often everyone relinearizes their profiles. Every roll/skid? Every morning? Once a week? Or only when you see a need?
  17. Calling all Vutek PressVu 200/600 operators!

I know when we had issues with coro it was usually when the bulbs were reaching the end of their life. As they get older they start producing more heat and less curing (UV). Also, what speed are you running the press? Have you tried slowing it down?
  18. Help needed with Vutek QS3220

Its possible although you typically see wearing in the cable when it fails (usually a foot or two just before it starts to bend in the home position). Do you have a spare part kit with a pixel board? That would be my next suggestion. I would also recommend calling the guys at Vutek as they...
  19. Help needed with Vutek QS3220

Yea, those are surprisingly delicate. If the cable isn't run tight enough, it will rub on the track and wear through again. I've had a couple that came in bad as well. If it was done recently, they will usually come back and replace it again and not charge travel for the second visit. They...
  20. Help needed with Vutek QS3220

I've seen this before. Its usually your pixel data cable that runs through the igus track (umbilical) from the end of the track to the carriage. You can probably see grey dust on the shelf where the track sits as well as wear in the sheath of the cable itself. Theres a chance it may be the...
