We print white ink from photoshop all the time so I know it DOES save spot color info. We save it as a tif with spot colors checked and it works fine. We are using Caldera though so it sounds more like a RIP issue.

If this is a heated roller, best way I have found is to heat it and then use a belt sander cleaner (here's an example http://www.harborfreight.com/sanding-belt-cleaner-30766.html) takes a bit of elbow grease but it doesn't damage your rollers.

Are you referring to the +/- Voltage you had to plug into the VUI when you put in a new head? (yellow was -1.2V or something similar). If so, there is no offsets you need to worry about on the newer machines. Just plug in the voltages that come on the jet packs as is.

We've found that the best for us to address this issue is to tweak our transition curves (light cyan and light magenta blends). Making sure those are just so helped with our grays tremendously.

Its been a while since we set up our workflow so bear with me. Are you trying to cut directly from Caldera or are you using the software that came with the cutter? We found that if you run directly from Caldera, there is no need for the Barcode Server.

We use Summa S2 Postnet with Caldera V9, but that is only half of the process. You also have to setup the Barcode Server in the Summa Cutter Control software that should have come with the cutter.
