Yeap, that did it the file association for .cdr was set to coreldraw, when I changed it to my current version x6 64 bit now I can see the thumbnails. I had checked that before but since it showed coreldraw I figured it was right. Thanks

Get rid of as many nodes as you can when they bunch up together makes it tough for the cutter, I have cut some very intricate designs but have to go in and clean up the vector with as few nodes as possible. I have the same machine.
