  1. Need a good outdoor sign backing material

Thanks! That seems like it will work great. Local HD didn’t carry it but they do ship it for free had to buy a case of 3 12”x8’ but I’ll find a use for the rest!
  2. Need a good outdoor sign backing material

need to redo my mailbox. I typically only deal with indoor signs and art so I am in need of a half inch thick material suitable for outdoors. Looking for something that will holdup to the South Florida weather. I will be facemounting the aluminum print to it. Needs to be able to screw into...
  3. I finally created a product similar to chromaluxe that does not chip

I would probably be open to selling it. I am not interested in selling a few dozen, I would probably take orders with MOQ's. Dont mind letting others sample it, however.
  4. I finally created a product similar to chromaluxe that does not chip

I tested the breathing color direct to aluminum. Its total crap. It needs to be laminated which makes it extremely easy to scratch. It doesnt compare anywhere near to chromaluxe. Ben Gasser also made a review about it that pretty much sums up my experience with it.
  5. I finally created a product similar to chromaluxe that does not chip

I did use his stuff for a good 6 months actually. His stuff is not actually better than dynasub as there are streaks in the coating, and the panels do not stay straight/rigid. I did stick with it for as long as I did because it was the only 0.032 option available for me at the time. My...
  6. I finally created a product similar to chromaluxe that does not chip

Just posting to show off my achievement. Please not I dont think this is something that can compete with chromaluxe, and I dont even know if I want to market it to resellers or what not. However since opening a photo lab I was upset that there was dynasub, chromaluxe and then nothing in...
  7. Where can I buy an edge mounted "euro frame" ?

yeah I currently use a very strong thin clear tape its called tesa mounting tape. I think that would do the job. If you have never tried it, do yourself a favor and pick up a roll on ebay, they go for very cheap there. I use it whenever I feel the 3M VHB would be extreme overkill and it has...
  8. Where can I buy an edge mounted "euro frame" ?

I think you are right. I have come across the nielson line before and my search for this specific frame the closest thing I have seen was this line. I ignored it since these prints were being edge mounted to it. Are they applying adhesive to the edge of the frame and then applying the print...
  9. Where can I buy an edge mounted "euro frame" ?

Not quite sure if you have what im looking for. Its hard to see what exactly your product is from your website.
  10. Where can I buy an edge mounted "euro frame" ?

I dont offer frames, but I have a loyal client who insists on this "euro frame". I can make a nice edge mount frame with gatorboard and some brushed aluminum edge trim, but this particular frame is solid aluminum with a wire hanger. Can not for the life of me find a supplier who carries it...

  12. Sublimating to aluminum - Maxi Press Air or Manual?I

You're right R3. I am going to go for the air version. I know I will regret not getting it to begin with and the last thing I need is being stuck with a piece of equipment thats holding me back, or always having me asking what could have been. Thanks for the replies guys.
  13. Sublimating to aluminum - Maxi Press Air or Manual?I

I will be making a purchase for either a maxi press manual or a maxi press air size 44 x 64 I was almost certain I would be buying the manual version. I called GeoKnight and spoke with Aaron who suggested I look at purchasing the air version because aluminum panels require a lot of pressure...
  14. Best setup for abstract art?

Hi BestBlanks. I am aware of the chromaluxe and your website as well. You offer a lot of great items. Unfortunately the Chromaluxe does not offer the sizes that I need such as 12 x 24 and 16 x 28 so I think my best bet for this might be going to a aluminum supplier who can custom cut to order.
  15. Best setup for abstract art?

Do you bake the finish on yourself?
  16. Best setup for abstract art?

Thanks for the input SignManiac. No framing, they are float mounted onto the wall. They are full bleed to the edge and I believe are about 0.043 thickness. I have heard great things about the UV flatbeds. I probably will eventually get into that. I ordered a bunch of sublimation supplies as...
  17. Best setup for abstract art?

player from what I have read, where dust particles can play a role is when you're applying a precoat yourself, waiting for it to dry, some dust particles can play a factor. I would assume that any aluminum supplier has the process down since they do these coatings commercially in a controlled...
  18. Best setup for abstract art?

To everyone who has stumbled upon this thread looking for information I will do my best to post what I have learned so far about printing artworks onto aluminum substrates. I have not yet began to actually try anything out, but after much research online, phone calls to substrate suppliers...
  19. Best setup for abstract art?

You did not ask "one stinkin' question" you asked 7 questions. Despite the fact I knew you were baiting me, I still answered your stinking questions, but you probably overlooked that didn't you, because you already made up your mind on what direction you were going to take in your response...
  20. Best setup for abstract art?

Thank you for some of the replies on here. Sounds like the CET is in fact worth exploring more. I deal with china because I have no choice. I do not sell on etsy or ebay, or on the internet at all for that matter. I have partnerships with galleries all over the US and I deal mostly with new...
