  1. Substrate Question

    Thanks for your help...
  2. Substrate Question

I have the vinyl. Problem is I am a photographer, not a sign maker. And Im just trying to help my friend out with his volunteer efforts. Im just trying to figure out what would be a good substrate that would last for awhile & be reasonably economical. As I said this is sorta out of my area...
  3. Substrate Question

Working on a project for a friend that does some volunteer work.. For my regular "work" I use a peel and stick material that I print on and mainly apply to walls. My friend has a temporary display that he sets up often and would like to change the "signage" fairly regularly. The "board" is...
  4. Inconsistant results

Thought I'd come back to this thread and update it. after continued frustration I finally contacted the vendor I purchased the press from....they referred my questions to the manufacturer. When all was said and done the issue was inconsistent heat in the press...which is being fixed now
  5. What do you do with polypropylene media?

How much you selling it for...I've just gone thru 2 rolls of that stuff in the last 2 weeks. I use it to create banners that hang in gyms here locally.
  6. Looking for a school logo

Up here in the middle of PA many of the schools mascots are variations on native americans...red raiders, warriors, indians, etc. And many of them dont' really have official "logos" either. so when I am creating my sports products I use some generic "indian" clip art, a profile, crossed...
  7. Inconsistant results

I'll crank er down a bit more.....I feel like Im going to crack the mugs...but pressure was my first guess as well..... When you have minimal experience terms like "firm pressure" is kinda vague
  8. Inconsistant results

Well they are the same "stock" but I suppose its possible there is some slight variation in diameter from mug to mug. I'll just clamp it down harder and see what happens. For fear of sounding more dumb that I already admit to being..what tool would I use to do that. Im smart enough not to...
  9. Looking for a school logo

Im not in that segment of the market...these are for products I sell (photo products) that I have a contract with the school to do....but many schools I work with do not have a digital version of their logo.....
  10. Looking for a school logo

I photograph sports for a lot of HS's and one thing I've learned is logos are everywhere. On the sides of band trucks, signs in front of the school, on the wall in the gym, I even pulled one off of a lunch tray one time......just look around. Go find a clean one, photograph it and extract it...
  11. Inconsistant results

And the other issue I am having is that as Im doing a batch of mugs, using the same settings, I get inconsistant results. The attached photo isnt' the best but on the right side you hopefully can see how it is faded and not as good color as the mug on the left. These were done a few min apart...
  12. Inconsistant results

Im new to the sublimation world. I recently purchased a Ricoh 7700 printer and a Geo Knight Combo press with the mug press. One thing that is frustrating me is that I seem to be getting inconsistant results. For starters on the edges of mug (closest to the handle) the image many times...
  13. Bite the bullet

Ricoh 7700 understand completely. Problem with sub out something is time. My current sublimation supplier takes about 10 days from the time I upload an order, they process it, then ship it back. I have the ability to turn my photos in 3 days.....so its to become more competitive from a time...
  14. Greetings and Hallucinations

    And the reason would be?
  15. Greetings and Hallucinations

Guess since I'm new here I should introduce myself. My name is Lew and I am mainly a photographer, specializing in sports and school photos. Ive been selling sublimated products such as mugs, etc for a number of years now. up to now I have been out sourcing those products. Just recently I...
  16. Bite the bullet

I'm a photographer from the middle of PA. Looking to expand my in house options. Recently invested in some sublimation equipment and looking at some other things such as a vinyl cutter. I've got broad shoulders. So please don't sugarcoat any responses to any dumb questions I might have.
  17. Hello everyone, Views on Canon iPF8100?

I have an iPF8300, which I think is the successor to the 8100, it's been a good printer. I mainly use it for printing on photo paper. However I've also used it to print on some satin banner material, and I just ordered some polyester banner material to print some inside banners with.
