    too much heat?
  2. Green Lines

I know that grays are difficult. Does anyone have any idea what is causing these green lines in the grays? When I run it again, lines seem to be pretty consistent in placement. Feed direction indicated by arrow. Roland 540spi, Avery 1105.
  3. Gloss white vinyl for coverup

Need to wrap a portion of a white box truck to cover over some painted (blue) graphics. What cost-effective gloss white vinyl would be best to cover? No printing, just goes on to cover. Prefer to not buy a full roll, just by the yard.
  4. What are these?

The guy I bought my printer from several years ago had these two items amongst a bunch of other stuff. Before I finally throw them out, are they anything useful? One of the posts on each one fits a 3” tube snuggly, the others let a 3” tube rotate. There also seems to be some sort of notch on the...
  5. Water soluble pencil ??!?

In case anyone else runs into this, no amount of elbow grease coupled with a microfiber cloth and various cleaners (water, alcohol, goop, etc.) got this off. Magic Eraser with nothing on it wiped it off in two seconds. Go figure.
  6. Water soluble pencil ??!?

    HA! You’d think.
  7. Water soluble pencil ??!?

I’m in the habit of using water soluble pencil to mark vinyl for cutting. I marked some pink 3M 1080 with a black water soluble pencil. Normally I wipe it off once I make my cut. I forgot. The next day I noticed it. No problem. After all, it’s ‘water soluble’. Wrong. Nothing I have tried is...
  8. Oracal 631 one day vehicle wrap

It's a film shoot. I'm not involved in anything other than providing them with a wrapped vehicle. I'm leaning toward standard wrap vinyl anyway. It's a fast turn around and I'd rather not fight an unknown material that doesn't have air egress or reposition.
  9. Oracal 631 one day vehicle wrap

it's film and i'm not involved with that part...but i like the way you think!
  10. Oracal 631 one day vehicle wrap

I can make cuts and seems where i never would, because it's a superficial wrap for the shoot.
  11. Oracal 631 one day vehicle wrap

I'd prefer not to print. It's a tight turnaround, so I'd rather just have the color on-hand and just get it on the vehicle.
  12. Oracal 631 one day vehicle wrap

I've got a client that needs a one day color change wrap for a film shoot, so they want matte. I haven't used 631. Can anyone give me any insight into whether or not this would be an adequate option to be on for one day and then removed. I think generally putting it on and taking it off are no...

Any suggestions for precut/masked boat stripe suppliers?
  14. Question Color Bars

For a long run (Versacamm 540i), with greys, what are you folks using for color bars along the sides? I've done this in variety of ways over the years on different printers, just not on large format sol.
  15. Question Roland Color Management

I just prefer to do my own color management. Too many variables for my taste otherwise. excelerator had the answer.
  16. Question Roland Color Management

    THANKS! that did the trick.
  17. Question Roland Color Management

I'm fairly advanced at color management, but I'm stumped. I have a Roland sp-540i. When I output a VersaWorks color chart for roland and then use the corresponding color swatch from the library in illustrator, the results are completely different. I've got all color management off in...
  18. Directional Vinyl

When using a metallic vinyl which is directional, where the hood is wider than the material width, which direction do you run the vinyl? Hood on jeep is 64" at widest point' plus it's rounded to the side panels. If the direction of the vinyl on the sides runs horizontal, do you run the...
