We have a Summa S2160T. We print groups of labels back to back. Nothing fancy just rectangles with rounded corners about 2 to 3 inches wide by about 15 to 16 inches long. We group them in 2 row groups to make cutting them down easier. The past couple days I noticed about every 4th or 5th group...
That's interesting because when we had an old Mimaki UV hybrid, the few times I forgot to switch it to bi-directional, I always thought the banding looked worse. And yes! It would take twice as long to print and that printer was already sooooo slow to begin with.
Man I wish these had been available when I worked for my previous employer. We made 3 sided signs from foam core in house for pop up stores the company did at MLM events. This would have been much easier.
This is the year all the new tax changes kick in and businesses can deduct 100% of their expenses. This seems to have boosted spending across multiple industries. Printing is my side gig. Full time I build Peterbilt trucks and right now we have a back log of over 30,000 trucks which is more than...

You could run a nozzle test and see if you're dropping any. But I've also found you can pin point a bad head by running a print head alignment. If you have any gaps of missing ink in the color bars you probably need to replace the head associated with that bar.

We use this for this type of application. We print latex on it.
If it sat for a few weeks it very well could be a bad head. Its not uncommon for only one color to be affected when a head goes bad. I would try swapping them out with new heads and seeing if that works. If that fixes your problem then at least the bad ones are still under warranty.
Good practice for these printers is to keep at least 2 of each head on hand at all times. I've had multiple heads go down at one time before.
