  1. Rock Work

Here is the solution to a problem my niece had. She lives in a subdivision that does not have city water, so each house has their own well. The well head just happens to be in the front yard and was unsightly. So my brother had me create a hollow rock to sit over the well head. I used 1 1/2"...
  2. Wall Mural

Thanks for all the kind comments. We had a great time while we were in the shade. These were painted on a west wall, so come about 2:00 in the afternoon we had to stop painting because it was so hot. There's nothing more relaxing than sitting up on a scaffold and painting away.
  3. Wall Mural

Bill Hueg from St. Paul , MN and myself were commissioned to paint these wall murals on my local V.F.W. We used Nova paint that is 100% acrylic. Pounce patterns were used on the 31" x 15' areas. We started painting on Thursday and finished on Sunday.
  4. What about your sign?

Here is my shop sign. It is made from HDU and routed by hand. This was before I had a CNC. The Clark Signs is 23 carat gold leaf and everything is painted with one-shot.
  5. Sweet shop logo

I also like the font on #2, but I would shorten the cross on the t so it doesn't go through the C because on first glance I see an E. I hope that makes sense.
  6. Veterans Mural

Thanks for all the kind comments. I'm so fortunate to have some talented friends to help in the execution of this project. The traffic has definitely increased on this street since the memorial park has been completed.
  7. Veterans Mural

Thanks for all your kind comments. It was planned to be completed during Antique Days so the crowd could watch us paint. They also had a car show going on, so there were quite a few people that got to see us in action.
  8. Veterans Mural

Progress Pics Here are some progress pics.
  9. Veterans Mural

I had Dave Correll from Fairibault, MN and Cornbread from Mt. Pulaski, IL come help paint this mural over the weekend to honor Veterans. It measures 11'x29' and is painted with Nova Acrylic Paint. We had great weather and a lot of fun.
  10. Tell me what you think

Thanks, I know what you are saying about the horse. It's hard to believe but they were very happy and felt that I captured the horse perfectly. Oh well, I guess it's on to making the sign and getting it installed.
  11. Tell me what you think

O.K. the decision was made and here is what they decided on. I know all of you have been wondering. They loved the horse and I guess that is all that matters, that the customer is happy. Thanks, to all of you that contributed suggestions, I really appreciate it.
  12. Tell me what you think

You wouldn't believe this but about a month ago they sold a 4 year old gelding that won nationals last year for $400,000. I guess if I had a horse like that they could roll all the peanuts and I wouldn't care.
  13. Tell me what you think

    Here is another version. Thanks!
  14. Tell me what you think

Well, I hate to the bearer of bad news but I had to change the horse. I didn't realize that quarter horses don't raise their heads, so the customer wanted the horse like I drew it. Let me have it!
  15. Tell me what you think

o.k. met with the customer and they love the layout except for the horse. I knew that this was going to be a problem. They gave me a pic of one of their horses and I came up with this. I also raised up the bottom of the L, lowered the line above the quarter horses and extended it on the other...
  16. Tell me what you think

Bob, I'm sorry but that horse is as original as it comes. I took a photo of a quarter horse off the internet, brought it into coreldraw, used my wacom tablet to draw the outline of the horse, traced it and then node edited it. I agree with you on what they are selling. This is mainly for an...
  17. Tell me what you think

The font for Relander is LHF Lakeside regular. I agree that the horse graphic is too small, so I enlarged it and have worked on node editing on that. Here are the changes so far. Jill, I moved the bar, good catch thanks!
  18. Tell me what you think

O.K. here are the changes. Marlene, thanks for the node editing input, I had forgotten about it, just hadn't gotten that far yet. Jill, hopefully that will cure the Irelander issue. Once you pointed it out, I could see it. The reason for the panel shape is because this is for an entrance sign...
  19. Tell me what you think

I really appreciate all of the input. At times I try to put too much into a logo. This is a really good forum to bounce around ideas. The all caps, I definitely agree on as well as the reverse panel. I can't decide if the horse in black competes to much with the lettering versus the horse in gray.
  20. Tell me what you think

I was thinking the same thing. Thanks for the input.
