For those who are interested.. I think I found the reason for my problem.
I removed the cover and the cartridges and cleaned the eight contacts of the printer chips inside that are in contact with the eight chips of the cartridges. Since that time everything has returned to normal as before.
Thank you.
I think both are up to date, Mimaki - v.3.60 and RasterLink - v.5.16.
The only thing I suspect is that the machine cartridges chips are getting dirty, as sometimes it stops printing because one of the cartridges looks empty but all I need to do in this case is to replace it.
During printing my Mamiki sometimes switches itself from Remote mode to Local and stops with a small beep without any digital warning. I manually put it back in Romote to continue printing.
It's new to me and it's quite embarrassing because sometimes I let it all alone printing at night..
Any...
When I print on regular vinyl or translucent one I use 3M IJ180C profile to get a very good quality, but if I use the same profile for perforated vinyl my quality is hardly acceptable.
What are you doing, please, to have good quality in this case?
Hello,
For some time for outdoor billboards we use the Polar Monomeric 3.2mil Drytac vinyl, and there is a regular real problem of its unsticking. Drytac is less expensive and we wanted to try it.
Could someone give his point of view on this, please?
I think this swan design approaching would be a better solution in your case, since the resemblance to an S is more obvious.
You just have to take inspiration from this image to do something similar.
I think you got the answer to your question.. Otherwise you can not compare Flexi to Illustrator for graphic design needs, Flexi is much more production oriented.
Personally I am using Illustartor for all that is printing (via Raster LInk) and vinyl cut directly and I am happy with that does...
I am not using Flexi for my graphic design & print/cut job, I am able to do all of this by Illustrator and its Mimaki FineCut plug-in and I am happy with.
Good news for you, ruckstande, because in the last AI version, if you have to modify one of your multiple items within an AI file - for ex. to change the signs background color or its shape - you will have to modify juste 1 item and the rest of them will be done automatically !
"You can have 1 to 1000 artboards per document depending on the size of your artboards. You can specify the number of artboards for a document when you first create it, and you can add and remove artboards at any time while working in a document."...
In the 2017 Illustrator I think there was 100 artboards limitation, but in the 2018 one there are up to 1000, I can't confirm because I never use as many..
Another way is to have for ex. 10 artboards with 10 layers with 10 items on each of them.
I assume that your are working in the sign industry.. If yes, what is the reason to have hundreds items files ? for this kind of job InDesign will be clearly the better solution. Otherwise, as the sign company graphic designer + print/cut production, Illustrator is the best by far for both for me.
