  1. Discussion I've owned an HP R1000 since April 2019, ask me anything

I love the print quality of this machine! I did have a few questions/concerns though... 1) Finger prints. Is this an issue? 2) Heat. I was concerned with printing on heat sensitive materials. (ie 20pt styrene, foamboards, etc) 3) Double sided. We do quite a bit of double sided printing and...
  2. Large vinyl murals on foam core advice

If you'd like to do this yourself then I would do this: Buy more 1/2" foamcore. Glue the two half inch panels together with the top face running vertically and the bottom face running horizontally. This will make the 7' x 7' a single strong one inch thick piece. Run one inch VHB around the...
  3. Wrapping a 50ft tall concrete silo. Anyone ever done something similar? Pricing and time?

There were a lot of runners on this thread and only one doer. :) Nice job man, looks killer. Here's one I did that made everyone nervous too. It's a historical landmark, so I had to make sure that the vinyl would not damage the surface of the stone which added a little drama. o_O
  4. Opinion Any Opinions On Any Of These Laminators?

I see quite a bit of time has passed since you made your decision. How has it been??
  5. laminate is too thick

6mil is too thick and 15 mil is waaaaay too thick. You don't need to use a cast IMHO. A basic 3-4mil calander PSV with a 3-4 mil lam would be just fine. All cheap cheap. I would think that a 15mil lam would be fairly expensive??
  6. Braille

Hi all! I'm looking for a braille insertion tool for my Kongsberg cutting table. They recently came out with one, but they only fit their new machines. (surpise, surprise..) Does anyone know of an attachment that is universal to all or most CNC machines? Thanks!
  7. Maximize prints per roll?

The only way to get a better yield then this would be to run 8up.
  8. Commission Program for our sales reps

    I couldn't agree more with Eric. #respecttherainmakers
  9. Font challenge! I'm just stumped!

    Awesome! Thank you gentlemen!
  10. Maximize prints per roll?

At first I was thinking of this.... But this would probably be even better.... 61” x 100’ 154,9 cm x 30,5 m 1 Roll KPPS61 Kodak Satin
  11. Font challenge! I'm just stumped!

Can anyone help a brother out? I've searched high and low and I can't identify this damn font!
  12. What Would Be Your Next Flatbed?

Wow, thanks Merritt for posting that quote. I can't tell you how helpful that is. We're looking at replacing our Oce 6170 and I thinking that the Durst 250, the SpyderX and the Agfa are all good options.
  13. Oce Arizona 318 GL white drop out

Definitely, replace that filter. It's easy and cheap to do. But it could be the meniscus vacuum. That would have to be done by Oce. Does it do this on all materials or just one in particular?
  14. How to make outdoor backlit signage

Print it on a clear adhesive backed vinyl using the backlit mode, laminate and apply to the translucent acrylic. Easy peasy. :)
  15. Brick wall install

Thanks guys, advice taken, four tiles it is. I'll post a pic of the finished job!
  16. output color wrong

Our ONYX (Thrive 12.2) doesn't show .ai files. I suppose you could change the extention and "trick" the RIP into opening it, but according to ONYX it's not a supported file type. "While Adobe Illustrator (.ai) files will usually render correctly, they are not a supported file type. The .ai...
  17. Brick wall install

I need a little advice here if anyone can help. I have an indoor brick installation to do and I'm not sure how to tile it. I could have four 44" x 86" horizontal tiles or two 43" x 168" vertical tiles. Obviously, the two tiles will look better, but I'm worried about ease of installation with...
  18. Trying to learn correctly before I run into problems!

LOL! Well said! I have noticed that linked PSD files seem to work just fine, whereas in years past I remember them giving me problems at times. I guess I need to take the advice I want my bosses to take! That said, I don't really notice any difference between unembedded and embedded images. I...
  19. output color wrong

Are you sure about that?
  20. Advice for Floor Graphics- I'm a Virgin

You're all good, my friend. Those are the correct materials.... albeit the most expensive ones. :) But you won't have any issues and I'm fairly certain that you'll be covered under 3M's warranty for any slip and fall claims. There are some great YouTube videos on floor graphic installations...
