Well, I tried lining the back with RTape Conform 4075 High Tack transfer tape to improve grip but sadly it wasn’t enough. The material still drifted. I really don't know what else to do other than try a different backlit. But LexJet is saying another backlit like HP Backlit Polyester film...
Funny enough, the paper they suggested was a kraft paper with no plans on how to adhere it, however I didn't even think about a high tack transfer paper. Worth a shot, thanks!
I'm trying to perf cut some backlit PET film media and the material seems to be slipping even when just feeding it through the cutter. I'm using a Graphtec FC8600-130 cutter and media is LexJet Simple Premium Gloss Backlit Film.
This cutter seems to work just fine on other materials like...
Thank you for this very informative post! One question: Which side do you lay on the emulsion? Do you lay the printed side down on the emulsion or is the printed side facing up and the back is on the emulsion?
Here's my setup: HP Latex 110 printing on PET backlit film media and cutting on a Graphtec FC-86000 cutter. I need to cut long rectangular sections approximately 16" x 96" in size. I had planned to perf cut them but I'm running into trouble separating them cleanly after cutting.
It seems...
Same, I've only used FlexiRIP for printing only and would never use it for design or anything as that would be insane to me. The interface is disgusting to put it mildly. I use Adobe Illustrator for all my design and vector work, then I just print from Flexi.
It's mostly due to the need for an easier workflow and less frustration. I constantly have issues trying to nest prints and I'm currently struggling to get Flexi to recognize a 1200 DPI print mode. I've already created the profile on the printer with 18 pass selected but I still only see 600...
Looking to upgrade from the free Flexi RIP software that was included with the purchase of my HP Latex 110. Anyone have any recommendations?
Primary considerations are ease of use, reliability, versatility, and affordability. Mac OS compatibility would be a plus, but isn't required.
I've...
Maybe it wasn’t clear but I wanted to keep everything on a single roll since it was all going to the same place and would also facilitate install. I didn’t want to end up with nearly 20 individual rolls.
After reading all your advice I decided to build my own take up reel system out of 4x4s...
I wish it were that easy. The problem is how to manage the output without separating it from the rest of the roll. I see Summa cutters offer a take-up reel system but I haven’t seen anything like that for Graphtec cutters.
I can’t just let it all fall in the media catch basket since I’m sure...
Yeah, I refuse to use it. I purposely keep my Illustrator on an old version just so I can get my registration lines in and cut using cut master 3. It's almost like they took the free FlexiRIP software and reused the interface for cut master 4. I hate it.
I need to kiss cut and perf cut a full roll of media (54"x150') that I just finished printing. I've cut plenty of large stuff before but I've never cut a full roll all at once and I'm worried the media will get damaged if I don't manage it correctly. Ideally, I'd like to have it back on a roll...
