Which SwissQprint machine did you have? I think this is the first time I've ever heard someone make this claim. I'd be curious to know what issues you ran into with the printer.

If you're just going to cut out small stuff Vision makes a nice machine with a camera system that is 25" x 50" and is fairly in expensive For a larger higher end machine I think Zund has the best equipment on the market, but the Kongsberg table is nice as well.

Not sure about the Gen5 heads but the Konica Minolta heads have to have the flush removed or it will degrade the heads.

How raised is that snake image? swissQprint can do raised images, but I've never done one that's more than roughly an 1/8th of an inch high. Let me know if you would like some info on the printers.

If Quality is your main concern, can you get each rep to print a quality control sample of yours so you can see which one has the quality you would like? It would be interesting to see the difference since the Cannon has the Variable dot size but the Agfa has Light inks. Good luck with what...

You might also want to look in to some other brands as well as looking at the differences between a hybrid machine and a true flatbed. Mimaki for instance also makes a reasonably priced printer. I personally would also look at the cost of ownership of each option, things like service contract...

Not sure if you can use it here but Alumigraphics makes a product for uneven surfaces like brick and lasts a long time. You just use a rubber roller to form it into all of the crevices. Hand painted would probably look better though.

From my experience I don't know of any flatbed printers that print lacquers/clear coats that are what you would be looking for. My guess is that even if they did it would be faster to just seal coat it after it is printed anyway. As far as the other questions I would start by getting a...

For a standard wipe down with a lint free tex wipe we use isopropyl alcohol, sometimes it takes 2-3 wipes to get it really clean. If you need anything stronger than that maybe someone else can offer a better suggestion.

true, but if you end up wanting to do more than 10 boards an hour you wouldn't need to buy a second machine either. The Flora can do some decent speeds with the double row of PH's though, I haven't seen one in person yet.
