  1. Discussion I've owned an HP R1000 since April 2019, ask me anything

I've had an R2000 a few years now and I regret it. Even with overcoat, aluminum and acm scratch way too easy imo. .040 aluminum and styrene are still a pain in the ass to print on despite what the sales people say. Good luck finding the right heat settings that don't cause the boards to warp...
  2. Cutter or Router: Colex v Shop Sabre

On aluminum, it can be difficult to find the right bit and settings to get a clean edge after it's cut. Most of the time, we end up at least needing to wipe the edges of white paint flakes that didnt fully get removed, if not run a deburring tool on edges if they were left a bit rough. When...
  3. Cutter or Router: Colex v Shop Sabre

The Colex is great for everything we do, except aluminum. We do printed boards, vinyl decals, cut letters from ultra, pvc, gator, etc.... It's great for all that. Aluminum is the only material that is frustrating. It can do it, but not with any great speed, especially with the added variable...
  4. HP315

You just need to find the right settings where the media doesn't deform but still cures and drys. This video might help explain everything.
  5. I got a problem _ print this material

I've never seen a valuejet get hot enough to do something like that. I suppose it's possible so you could try lowering the heat, but my guess is bad or old material.
  6. Guidance on moving fb 500

Also make sure your power is ready on the other end. You don't want this machine sitting unplugged for days.
  7. Guidance on moving fb 500

Make sure you level it when you get it to new spot.
  8. 3m etched vinyl won't pick up with transfer tape

This is also a good strategy for stuff that's just hard to weed. If all the tiny letters or design elements are going to lift while weeding because it's printed/laminated vinyl, it's often better to just stick it to whatever and weed afterward carefully.
  9. HP Latex Undetermined Head Issue

IMO there is a high probability this issue will go away when you replace the heads. The issues you are describing are prime examples of what happens when the heads are going bad on a Latex. You can probably run a head test to see which head(s) specifically are having an issue. I don't know...
  10. My city is getting very greedy

Sure I can try. Think about all the things in your life you have to get a permit or license for and ask yourself why a separate entity needs to come between you and your freedom to do what you want with your own life and property (so long as you're not infringing on someone else's". And also...
  11. My city is getting very greedy

licences and permits is the government taking away your rights and selling them back to you.
  12. Problem with "black streaks" on vinyl material

Is the vinyl thicker than the paper? Does it raise up at all when printing? Is the head height different? If none of these, probably static.
  13. wall wrap material

40c or phototex. I've never seen curling on phototex tho. This really depends on the wall surface though (material, texture, voc paint, etc...)
  14. Anyone have an idea what causes this?

My guess would be roll problem or tension issue, or maybe encoder issue. I've never ran a 1682 but if they're like other mutohs I assume there are encoder strips for the carriage and advance. I don't think think that is the problem but cleaning those encoders is an easy rule out.
  15. Summa S2 T160 rough edge cuts

If you ain't first you're last. Letters are maybe .75" tall. We usually run around 12; sometimes slower.
  16. Summa S2 T160 rough edge cuts

The blade origin calibration was the issue. Also, under magnification, I could see the blade was visibly damaged even though it was new. I assume the damaged tip happened because the incorrect origin calibration resulted in the blade being dragged at an angle. Thank you everyone.
  17. Summa S2 T160 rough edge cuts

what might cause a new blade to chip immediately?
  18. Summa S2 T160 rough edge cuts

I'm using the 45degree tangential blade. I have followed the directions on blade depth and pressure. The speed is 12ips. I'm getting a really small rough edge look on cuts on laminated cast and calendared vinyls, even with a brand new blade. I have cleaned the roller thing right where the...
  19. Need Colex Compatible bits for 10mil Coro

If you don't mind, what feed rate, rpm, and pass depth do you use with this bit? I wish Id seen this thread yesterday. I actually had to router out a ridiculous double sided 10mm coro sword I think someone ordered for halloween and tried a few bits and settings and couldn't get a clean edge...
  20. How do you keep consistent colours on roll to roll printer? (Epson SC80600)

The only way to solve this is with basic output color management via a calibration device (usually I1) and Onyx's profile system (since onyx is your rip). If you are replacing heads, you will definitely see color changes from prior to head replacement. Also, as printheads age, various factors...
