We are finding that steam is great for removing cut vinyl and wraps alike.
I’ve used a heat gun for years with rapid remover and the steam is working better for us. Be patient and wear some good gloves. Plus make sure to charge enough to make the effort REALLY worth the time:)

We have a set of channel letters we will be installing on a 5/8” drywall with backer plywood interior fascia. Metal studs on 16” ctrs.
We have 6’ whips with Class 2 LED wire for each letter with a single power supply to be mounted behind wall.
Do we have to use pass thrus for each letter...

We are using 3/16” white acrylic for backer on each panel. The other white is the back of DiBond face.

Thanks for reply! Great idea about roughing up both surfaces. Will do that for sure. It’s crazy how well the silicone stuck to DiBond, but no trace of it on acrylic.

Usually, yes. This is an extremely old sign that had flush mount .080 aluminum faces.
Being such a large sign, we are having to use two separate panels per side. If it were a smaller one panel sign we could have added retainer and slid in single face.

We have had a failure with this sign. The acrylic white backer separated from the DiBond panels in areas. We used tape (not VHB) and silicone adhesive to mount the acrylic to back of ACM panels.
