  1. Need Help L25500 Trouble After Belt Replacement

I just wanted to post the solution I found to my problem so if anyone else happens to have a similar issue they might find a fix. WARNING!! I would not recommend this if you have a warranty or service contract on your printer. I tried it because with a discontinued model, I really had nothing...
  2. Need Help L25500 Trouble After Belt Replacement

So, I was printing along nicely and my belt shredded. It was a fairly quick and painless replacement, but now I error out. It initializes and then the head slowly moves across, no banging and comes back to the capping station. Then it zips out and throws an 86:01. When I installed the belt I put...
  3. Need Help L25500 Installing New Carriage Belt

Does anyone happen to know where belt replacement is covered in the manual? The service manual has been removed from the site I typically use. They had a section to search where you could search it. I can't do that with my downloaded copy. :( And to think, just yesterday I was praising my old...
  4. Need Help HP L25500 Trouble with Yellow/Black

If I recall I had a Y/K printhead go bad. When I installed the new one there must have still been air in the lines. I drew ink through and put in another printhead. Been working great since. I did have a source, but parts seem to be pretty much non-existent or priced through the roof. It's a...
  5. Need Help HP L25500 Trouble with Yellow/Black

I managed a fix on the yellow and black issue, but it seems I've found another in the process. I have no lt magenta going into the heads. It's in the tube coming out of the cart. Still in the tube when it goes into the casing behind the printer, but not when it comes out of the casing. Any...
  6. Need Help HP L25500 Supplies

I've gotten ink, printheads and a cleaning kit from LexJet all within the last couple of weeks. Grimco also offers the same stuff.
  7. Need Help HP L25500 Trouble with Yellow/Black

So I'm having a new problem with my HP L25500. It gave me a faulty print head error right before Christmas and it's been an oversized paper weight ever since. I went ahead and replaced #4 like it said. I know, replace in pairs, but for some reason I only had one in stock. So I replaced #4 and it...
  8. HP L25500 Random Out Of Alignment

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that commented. I really appreciate the help and advice. It was the encoder disk. :)
  9. Font help please

There would be some text work to do, but Tabloid Press JNL would be close except for the A's Cut the top of the G's, same with the tails on the S's and curve the 2 points in the L's and it's pretty close. Use Sunblock Pro for the A. Hope it helps a little.
  10. HP L25500 Random Out Of Alignment

After some more testing there is a pattern. I just couldn't see it in the other file with the yellow background. It appears that the halo or whatever you want to call it appears every 8-9". Does that ring a bell with anybody?
  11. HP L25500 Random Out Of Alignment

Well, every roller is officially as white as the Cheshire cats smile and the issue still isn't resolved. :(
  12. HP L25500 Random Out Of Alignment

Thanks Dale and I agree with you. The encoder strip run the X-axis of the printer and the left to right alignment is perfect. To me, this looks like a Y-axis problem. I have tried with and without the take up reel. It's inconsistent. I can watch the entire thing print and not hear a single noise...
  13. HP L25500 Random Out Of Alignment

I have tried the take up reel suggestion and it's still doing it. I would guess that it is a feed issue of sorts, but I'm not exactly sure where. I even disabled OMAS to see if that had something to do with it. I'm printing 2 across on a 50" roll and both images are coming off identical so I...
  14. HP L25500 Random Out Of Alignment

I appreciate your opinion and understand that I purchased an old machine. I have had many different machines run long past their "expected lifetime". I have also had many different techs tell me that I need a new head or cable or motherboard, or my machine is completely shot etc when in reality...
  15. HP L25500 Random Out Of Alignment

Thank you for your suggestion. I did also clean the entire platen area and checked the rollers for debris. None was found. I can clean it again just to make sure I didn't miss anything. I can also try using the take up reel. This printer is new to me so my media selection is limited. I was...
  16. HP L25500 Random Out Of Alignment

Hey all, I'm having a problem that I just can't seem to figure out. It randomly goes out of alignment and then prints fine. I have cleaned and oiled the carriage rails, cleaned the encoder strip, checked the belt and the gear drive for debris, ran a vacuum check, realigned the print heads and a...
  17. Suggestions Suitable Media for HP L25500

Thanks, I think I'm over thinking this slightly. I'm nervous about buying the media as it is rather expensive for anything "quality." I just didn't want to end up having $300 door stoppers :) I think I have decided on the oracal 3651, Grimco's Forward Banner 13 oz and Ultraflex Strip Mesh Pro...
  18. Suggestions Suitable Media for HP L25500

Hi, I have zero media at this moment. Media is expensive and I didn't want to purchase just anything. I wanted something that was going to help create a quality product. I have been running oracal 651 through it just to keep ink flowing until I get in what I need. I did post what is needed for...
  19. Suggestions Suitable Media for HP L25500

Hi all, I'm new to the forum and just wanted to say hi and ask what everyone recommended for media on the HP L25500. I'm not new to printing, but I am new to latex. I haven't had a large demand for printed graphics so up until now I have done all of my signs and banners the old school way with...
