  1. Roof Wrap, Vinyl Scuffing

I tried heat to take out the scratches, to no avail. I used a white teflon squeegee, an orange squeegee with the black velcro on it, as well as a felt half-moon squeegee, and all of them scuffed the vinyl. Usually a few scuffs aren't a big deal, but this is just gloss black on the roof and they...
  2. Roof Wrap, Vinyl Scuffing

I've got a roof to wrap with gloss black vinyl. Applied it this morning (Oracal 751) but my squeegee(s) (I tried multiple brand new squeegees) scuffed up the vinyl pretty bad. If I laminate with Oracal 290 will that prevent the scuff marks? I'm not used to wrapping with solid colors (or without...
  3. Favorite masking tool?

Anything under 30" I usually tape by hand. Here's a quick diagram of how I mask 24" vinyl or smaller.
  4. PDF file with lines broken apart

In Illy, select all and go to Object - Path - Outline stroke... I'd remove all those goofy /////// behind some of the text, and move any of the text that overlaps any of the lines, and then weld everything together. Expand it, and there is your all black outline, ready to color. *Edit* Make...
  5. Flexi-Sign...who uses it? Poll??

I've been using flexi for about 5 years now(started on Casmate then Inspire in the sign industry) and can use it very effectively. I do all of my cut vinyl designing in it, and practically ALL of my vector cleanup. I switch between Flexi, PS, and Illy pretty seamlessy through most of my jobs...
  6. Has anyone 'profiled' RIPC?

If your VW is updated, in your templates that you base your template on are the RIPC base settings. Select the appropriate one and write your profile the same as you always have. I've successfully written 5 profiles with the new settings, and they are remarkably faster.
  7. Streaking from the rollers on VP540- argh

I've had this happen with 3641, put never with vinyl banner material. With the Oracal, it was a heat issue. I dropped the heat and and the roller marks and discoloring went away.

  10. Banding Issues

Sorry, this picture was taken from a side angle. The banding is running horizontal with the heads. As for the heat settings, I've printed everywhere from 35c to 50c, makes no difference in the banding, just the darkness of the gray. As for the encoder strip, that has been cleaned as well.
  11. Banding Issues

I've got an issue that I've been working with for about the last month now. I'm getting light banding that runs the entire length of the print, and is only noticeable on grays. I've been working with a few tech people over the phone, and even had my dealer techs in here working on it, but...
