20 year Onyx user thinking of switching to Caldera

I've been using Onyx rip software since 1997. I know it inside and out, better than most of the tech support people I talk to at Onyx. I just spent a whole day getting a new working installation for our combination of HP, Epson and Fuji printers. Also, I'm having a real problem shelling out for the same support contract to avoid payng for upgrades! I'm interested in hearing from any longtime onyx users who have switched to Caldera. Pros and cons. Thanks in advance!

Unless it is Windows your trying to get away from I would take a close look at Colorgate also. When I demoed Caldera I found the replace color function really lacking compared to Onyx or Colorgate. But then I may not have really figured it out so sure would like to here from Caldera users as to the replace color function and setting output CMYK values for printing PMS colors.

Colorgate for us. It has tons of color accuracy modules and they quickly implement feature requests and bug fixes. Runs great on Win7 production machine. The advantage to using windows is the support for the latest hardware for crazy fast rip times of huge files. Interface is clean and you do everything in a single window with the occasional dialog box.
