Aluminum boat vinyl

I have an aluminum boat that has a vinyl stripe approximately 16" wide, the length of the boat. The strip is at the top edge and has incidental water contact, not submerged. I am curious if oracal 951 can be used here? There are no grooves or edges to conform to. The only curve is from the side to the bow. Looking at the metallic 951. Any ideas or experience with this? Thanks!

dont use metallic for anything! solid color should be fine, also IMO metallic will have no effect under boat
