Best method for paper stickers?

I am mainly a sign maker along with some vinyl printing so I am no expert at printed material.

I have a long time loyal customer who has me do paper stickers and other various items. I have 4Over.com do them and it has been profitable for me. They use a 4c process on 70 lb adhesive back paper. He typically orders around quantity 2000.

He's working on a new product and wants a quote on 2 million 4x6" stickers. 4Over.com has up to 25,000 in their pricing chart at a few cents each. It certainly sounds reasonable and I will call them for this quote, but before I do i'm wondering if there is a better way for this quantity? Probably not screen printing even though they are 2 colors only. I am not interested in getting quotes to compare from other suppliers who do the same thing. I am happy with them. I just want to know if I should consider another method.

Thanks.

Happy with what you're getting. Not interested in other quotes, but would consider an alternate method. Okay.

Best I can do is to tell you to buy a digital label press with laser "die cut" and bring them in house. At $0.03 each x 2 million you could just about amortize a small press with one run. Not sure how much the laser option would cost though.

Thanks. That's the kind of info I was hoping for. I have never heard of a digital label press until now. I'll check into it.

See if you can get a demo. The top presses run so fast it looks fake. The laser die cutting is amazing too. On the fast presses it looks like a light show.

Couple videos to get you started.

Here's a vid of an off line laser "die cutter".

And it says 1 million 3x3 labels in 5 mins and 10 seconds. So you would be done with your huge order in less than 11 minutes. After setup, install, and training.
