"Character" or Fonts List in Ai...

I've always had problems with my Font (Character) List in Ai jumping around when im cruising through my fonts... it has separation lines with chinese character and it always jumps to those fonts after scrolling through 6-8 fonts... anybody have this problem or know what im talking about? this would help my sanity substantially

mine acts goofy whenever i've got too many fonts turned on in the system at once.
