Coroplast vs PVC Foam Boards (foamex)

Hey,

In the last few days I saw a few videos from signs101 members and it seems that the substrate of choice on here is coroplast.

In my shop I don't think we've ever used it, we always use foamex.

Why do you use Coroplast and is there any advantage to using it compared to foamex ?

coroplast is cheap, widely available, easy to manipulate into just about any 2d shape. Its also very resilient to being used outdoors.

Just an all around good substrate for many projects. Foamboard is useful to in its own rights. Mounting posters, photos, etc.. are all things I have chosen it for.

It really comes down to picking the best substrate for the task at hand to achieve the desired result. There is no substrate that is universally better than another one.
