Question Cutting DiBond

Gary Wiant

New Member
When routing DiBond do I need to use a mister or will it route fine without the mess of a mister?

What bits?

I'll be using a 3.5hp Router can you give any advise on feed & speed?

Thanks

You do not need a mister for dibond/ACM. Really all you need is a ton of cheap bits as the bonded material chews through bits in no time.

We have found a few cheap bits that cut just like the onsrud bits we were using and they are only $15 for a 10 pack or $4/EA with the guide ring.

I know this post is a bit old but just wanted to let you know that I am a rep from X-Edge Products and we are specialists in router bits, knife blades, and accessories for all CNC routers and flatbed cutters. You definitely do not need mist to cut dibond but I would highly recommend using a good quality tool to avoid having to constantly change tools and living with subpar cut quality. Our Viper series router bits cut dibond like butter and leaves a clean beautiful edge. 150 ipm and 22,000 rpm. You can check them out at www.xedgetools.com. Another reason to not use low quality tools is that they are rarely balanced properly and unbalanced or low balanced tooling causes increased stress on your spindle and reduces the spindle bearing life as well as the suffered cut quality etc. Of course I am biased because I work here but I was a router operator for more than 10 years and I have tried them all and wouldn't work for them if I didn't believe whole heartedly in them. If you send me a message I can get you a free sample of one to try, you just pay shipping.
