Has anyone used Day/Night Perforated Vinyl? Potential application: applied to backlit acrylic letters. Any tips, tricks or warnings would be appreciated.
Cool, will look into day night acrylic. Have you ever used the vinyl version and printed on it? I'm wondering if you laminate it if it will affect the night version.they have day night acrylic which is a step up. but either way works. It's a common thing to use on channel letters that need to be black during the day
Great, thanks for the tip. Most likely will go with the perf.We print on perforated vinyl and use on channel letters all the time to get white lit letters. Works fine as long as you use quality materials.
Dual Color films are also great for this application- though expensive. I never cared much for the "look" of actual Day/Nite vinyl (doesn't get white enough when lit, in my opinion- last time I tried it, anyway). If you're just looking for black/white, Day.Nite acrylic is the less costly option.
Thanks for the input, most likely will go with the perf, its for an illuminated address box with push thru numbers (1/4" acrylic)they have day night acrylic which is a step up. but either way works. It's a common thing to use on channel letters that need to be black during the day
If you have the capability, spraying Matthews paints with a flex additive is the way to go. Get some black 3m dual color, paint it whatever, and it'll look fantastic for ages.Have you ever used the vinyl version and printed on it?
Really never noticed on letters over 18" tall, but small or close up letters it definitely stands out like a sore thumb. One important thing to keep in mind that the perf direction needs to be the same for all letters.
