Flexi only works with RGB for me, why not CMYK??? -when importing files

Hi, we use an updated Flexi as out printer rip.

I have a question, Flexi can't seem to answer.
When I bring files to Flexi from Corel or Photoshop, I have to save them in RGB color mode.
If I save them as CMYK they open in Flexi ultra bright and the color is off.
This confuses me because for one, I am running a HP L25500 6 color CMYK - LM LC , and secondly any time we outsource other printers always want the file saved in CMYK color mode.

When I bring files in from AI, (saved as PDF or AI, and saved as RGB or CMYK, both methods the color is off when brought to Flexi) So really, I have to go and save AI files as Photoshop files, and then save in RGB mode and then bring to Flexi.

If anyone knows what I'm doing wrong here, much appreciated!

Have you tried to print it???? Every time i bring in a cmyk file to flexi it shows up with completely wrong colors. ( light blue looks green red looks pink etc. But once you print it it should be okay
