Need Help G'day From Oz

New to the forum, Dinosaur in the trade. Started my apprenticeship in 1980. No computers in the shop then but arrived a few years later. Lost count of the amount of shops I worked in and ran my own business for a few years as well. Hopeless as a business operator and went down in flames around 2000. Kept working in sign shops until 2007......and ended up in the Oil & Gas Industry. Was made redundant recently and am glad to be out of it. Just bought a Signblazer and Roland GS-24. Still setting up my workshop (home based). Spent a lot of time on the brushes, backspraying, applying vinyl (not wraps or multi dimensional stuff), installing all kinds of signs, assembling neon and wiring lightboxes as well as dabbling in things like pinstriping/scrolls, Never used printers or the software, but happy working in vectors on the Signblazer. Aiming to specialise in Gold Leaf on Timber and Fluoro Splash but will be open to anything suitable for a one-man operation to get the ball rolling.

So I do have a couple of questions maybe someone can help me out with. I've searched but can't find anything specific enough, probably a reflection of my search skills rather that lack of info on the site.

1 - I usually had Rekab / Roymac brushes for enamel / watercolour. Have also had Alligator, Handover, Mack, and Le Pinceu among a few others I can't remember. Anybody want to throw another couple of names in the mix for quality chisel edge brushes on the market?

2 - I used to use a vinyl product I knew as window splash as the base for fluoro windows but have been informed it doesn't exist anymore. The salespeople I've talked to are stumped as soon as I say I going to signwrite on it. Can anybody tell me a vinyl that will accept water based acrylic/latex paint and will hold it's form for application?

3 - I've had it in my head that there is free vector-art readily available on the net. Maybe I'm just getting too old and made this up to make myself feel better. I've googled and all I can find is "royalty free" but need to sign up an account with fees attached. Am I kidding myself and need to put down some cash for quality?

Thanks
Pete
