Glow in the dark polystyrene?

Our customer has asked us to make some signs identical to the ones in the attached photos.
They are 1/4" black acrylic with approx. 1mm or 1/16th" thick polystyrene(maybe) symbols and letters/numbers.

The symbols/letters/numbers glow in the dark. They are for stairwells at our local hospital. We have used glow-in-the-dark vinyl in the past for emergency exits so I figure we can lay this vinyl on the styrene or maybe even paint it but I'm wondering if anyone knows if there is an all-in-one material of that thickness we are supposed to use in this case. I'm certain the materials have to abide by some sort of fire code standards.
