GS 750plus help

We run blast stencil for tombstones. We recently ran a job with names for a war memorial and the O's were coming out weird. Not just the O's but a lot of letters seemed to not be meeting up like they should, D's C's, just a lot of bad looking stuff. The font is supposed to be Arial. I'm attaching a few pictures to show what I mean. Anyone know what might be causing this or how to fix it. I'm new to Gerber, we've been on a system called Monucad for years so I'm still learning.

Thanks for any help. 2013-08-05 16.29.48.jpg 2013-08-05 16.29.40.jpg

welcome from cali :thumb:

either the media is slipping while cutting, or the cutter head is loose.

is that mask already applied to granite? seems that the bad cuts should have been caught before that step =)

Yeah, the problems weren't found until they had them on the job site. When you say the cutter head is loose what exactly do you mean?

yes

Are you using a 60º blade ??

yes it's a 60 blade.

Also I slowed the speed down from 100 to 50 and it's still doing it.

Blade appears to be positioned correctly.

This is a half inch letter in arial. When I cut larger letters in monument roman it doesn't have this same issue.

I have that very same plotter. Check the "Theta belt". If your not sure what that is, there are some great instructions for replacing it right here on this web site.

Take the cover off your tool head and check to see if the theta belt has any teeth missing. The theta belt is the tan belt that turns the blade. While you're in there, lubricate the throwout bearing with one drop of sewing machine oil. Clean all shafts on plotter with alcohol and wipe some sewing machine oil on them as well.
